LtJudge (351), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA May 7, 2008 Pours a orangeish-amber color with white head. Aromas of citrus, grapefruit amd caramel malt. Great citrus grapefruit flavor with a generous malt backing. Body is rather "thick" as well. Great bitter finish. Not Bad! Thanks Brewblackhole!
CamdenD (545), Madrid, Spain Jul 4, 2008 Sticky IIPA. Standard, yet very nice-looking, copperish gold color and piny, not too citrusy, nose. This has the by-the-books long-lastingness of an IIPA yet it doesn’t really say much during its long set. Lots of promise, but little delivery. Most people here have this right, an empty yet big IIPA. Maybe I missed the boat, all should try, especially given what I think to be an excellent IPA in the normal Mojo. Heathen (420), Riverside, New Jersey, USA Jul 1, 2008 THOUGHTS: I haven’t had many Boulder Beers, but I’ve like most of them. I liked this one too, but there was nothing special about it. It hid the alcohol, incredibly well at first. The flavor balance could have been a little better, but it was fairly well balanced. It got better and better as it warmed.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a light to medium orange, with and average to large, creamy, off-white head that left excellent lacing. The aroma was moderate caramel malt, moderate citrus (grapefruit and orange) hops and some alcohol as it warmed. The initial flavor was light to moderately sweet and lightly acidic; while the finish was moderately sweet and heavily bitter with an average to long duration. There was caramel malt and then a bunch of orange and grapefruit hops. The alcohol come out much more as it warmed. The medium to full body was sort of syrupy with fizzy carbonation and an ever so slightly alcoholic and a metallic, but not harsh finish. samistake2ice (5), , Kansas, USA does not count Jun 29, 2008 Very appealing appreance bright golden oragne, white head. Real crisp grapefruit hops. Not overbearingly bitter but definately crisp. Great taste. Well Done. mcmd (35), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Jun 20, 2008 Pours a golden crystal clear orange with a white head, nice sudsy lacing in the snifter. Aromas of sweet malt and citrus hops, a little honey, some lemon also. Taste is sweet caramel malt with grapefruit hop bitterness, and honey also comes through in the flavor. Very crisp for the style. Reminds me a little of hopslam. Solid DIPA. sneagrams3 (1314), St. Louis, Missouri, USA Jun 14, 2008 Tasted 6/13/08. 12oz bottle. Filtered with a dark golden amber hue. Bubbled ring of oof-white head. Citrus sugary malty nose. Grapefruit hops. Solid nose. Full bodied and super crisp. Big bitterness. Lemon lime citrus flavors. Super bright grapefruit notes. Mild sweetness associated with high gravity brews. Hop dominant, but a good palate roll!
