The aroma is sweet caramel malt with spruce hops and spices. The appearance is deep amber with a medium head that leaves lots of lacing on the glass. The flavor is sweet with toasted bread, citrus, and spices. The palate is smooth. The aftertaste is oddly bitter with toffee. A good beer but I could swear there was soap in there. Maybe rosemary (also soapy) is one of the spices in it.

12 oz. bottle shared by Mike and Rachel- thanks, guys! Pours a clear copper with a big off-white head. Notes of biscuity and sweet malts, mild spice, caramel, and apples. Light-medium bodied, with a malty, dry mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Decent.

Bottle. Orange, light cinnamon and caramel malt aroma. Dark amber color with large head. Moderately sweet orange caramel malt and moderately bitter herbal hops flavor. Nicely balanced. A spiced beer I could drink more than once.

Pours amber with little foam. Smells very string of malty Carmel. Tastes the same and slightly bitter. Not too bad ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This is an OK beer. It starts off nice and somewhat malty but then there is a slight tin flavor. The color is a deep copper with a weak head. The watery finish drops it points as well.

Interesting flavor profile and great aroma. Smells malty, doughy, and like bread. Taste is spicy and malty but a little overwhelming, and not necessarily in a good way. Not a horrible beer though.

Deep ruby red color, thick tan head, taste is almost like a rye for a winter ale. Very easily drinkable, good for when winter throws too many deep heavy stouts your way. Quite refreshing for a winter brew. Would go well with a rich meal as well.

Ruby....tan head. Aroma is spice, caramel...Taste is..Big hop mix at first. caramel/toffee sweetness. the combination makes for a nice blend of sweet and bitter. Slightly roasty, slight sugary feel. Good taste....nicely surprised by this one.

Had this sitting around for a while and not much action upon popping the cap - gave it an aggressive pour and it formed a nice foamy tan head. Murky mahogany body. Nose is spicy, caramel malts, somewhat roasty, bordering on burnt malt in the background. Flavor is mostly sweet malt - not half bad after a while in the cellar to be completely honest...some spicy notes in the background. Palate is thin, but not to the point that it heavily detracts from the experience. Went in expecting very little and came out with a pretty decent drink!

pours a great brown, with a finger and a half creamy off white head. Lots of spices that are present but not overwhelming. Good all around easy to drink beer.
