Commercial Description:
Oak-aged oatmeal stout as dark in color as deep space. Again Obovoid on oak adds earthy character to the roasted notes and bittersweet chocolate finish derived from the black and chocolate malts.

first aroma was nice and typical coffee dark fruit of an imperial stout - after the massive head settled the aroma was a bit stale. taste is oaky dark fruit and coffee and bitter chocolate roasted malt.

Black, brown at edges, nice tan head fades into a ring. Chocolate, faint espresso, and slight fruit aroma. Chocolate and faint black currants, coffee on finish. Very nice, drinkable stout.

22 Oz bottle from Jimbo. Super nice nose of chocolate and espresso. Color is........wait for it...........black. Flavor is creamy, rich, but not overdone or burnt like so many other stouts these days. Oak is very very light, but still adds to the flavor. I really liked this one.

22 oz bottle. Pours a dark black color. Aroma is chocolate, coffee. Flavor is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, and notes of hops. Pretty creamy, smooth beer without much of an alcohol hint to it.

Bottle. Dark brown, almost black with a small beige head. Heavy mocha, roastiness and earthy hop character in the aroma. Very bitter, hoppy and piney at first then notes of wood, chocolate, coffee roastiness. The stout qualities got overshadowed by the hops in this one, and not exactly in a good way. The body is between medium and light - a bitt light for a stout.

I do not even discuss pours with impy stouts since they are all pitch black. This one is no different. Take this one at room temperature or thereabouts. Coffee roasted malt flavor. Pretty sweet with a decent hit of chocolate. Nothing out of the ordinary but a decent drink nonetheless.

Light smoky and woodsy aromas from a dark as night beer with a little ring of head and a minimum of lacing. Roasty and lively on the tongue, a little bit of hopping shows through. Palate is a little thin, if earthy.

22oz bottle. Super dark pour with a tan head. Big roasty chocolate aroma. Slightly woody flavor, with some rosty bitterness in the end, tasty.
