Commercial Description:
Oak-aged oatmeal stout as dark in color as deep space. Again Obovoid on oak adds earthy character to the roasted notes and bittersweet chocolate finish derived from the black and chocolate malts.

I thought the beer said Imperial Stout, so on first taste I was kinda let down, thats what I get for not reading. The stout was solid, roasty with a bitter chocolate flavor up front, higher carbonation made it light on the palate but really brought out the bitterness. Chocolate malts gave a dark roasty earthy/charred quality to the finish. The price was very high for a stout, not many stouts that cost $7 out here unless they are imperial, maybe that was my confusion.

22 oz. bottle shared by Tmoney99. Pours black with a small beige head. The aroma has mild sweetnes, roasted malt, funk (veggies ?), and chocolate. The flavor is a mess of light cocoa, chocolate, earthy, and theslightest hint of nuts. Faily thin. Not very impressive.

From bottle : Pours very dark black, with a thin light brown head that quickly dissapates. Lots of roasty coffee beans in the nose, also with a little chocolate. Taste is mainly chcolate all the way through, with a little bitter finish, some oakness in and out, and a aftertaste of roasted chocolate. Medium body, with a creamy mouthfeel. Aftertaste isnt too strong. Its not horrible, but not a memoriable stout.

Pours a brownish black color. Aroma of of coffee and smoke. Flavor is mostly of smoke with a hint of coffee, not chocolate malts showing up at all.

Poured a nice dark hue, black with some red to it, a nice frothy tan head which faded away by mid glass, minimal to no lacing. Aroma was heavy with chocolate and coffee notes. Flavor was sweet with a nice dark cocoa note and a mildly dry finish. Very rich at the same time the coffee notes were too mild to detect as was the oak. It was creamy but at the same time was not very heavy. A very good beer but just short of great. Definitely would have again.

On tap @ Coles Buffalo NY. Not really impressed by this one. Watery. Pours a nice deep black. aroma has roasted malts & slight oak. Mouthfeel was light & watery. Lacking the balls I thought it would have. OK

Had on draft at Boston’s north of Dayton, OH. A very good oatmeal stout that went down quite well. Bigger than most oatmeals at 7.5%, I was very irritated that it was served in a snifter instead of a pint. This stout was smooth, creamy yet had a good measure of roastiness to it. Very unique and enjoyable.

Thanks to Dragonstout. Pours a dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma is mostly roasted malts and barley. Tastes the same, plus hints of cocoa, coffee, and sweet malt. Finishes with a clean cocoa and coffee flavor.
