| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 7, 2008 Pours black with a creamy off white head. Aroma is wood, chocolate, and roasted coffee. Big thick mouthfeel with a smooth finish. Definitely roasted flavors with oak in this one, nice idea to age this one in oak barrels. A little more bite on the finish would make this a premium oak aged stout. I would really like to see an oak aged oatmeal-imperial stout out of this recipe packing about 10%. I can see that hypothetical brew as being one of my favorites. C’mon Boulder make it happen! fiver29 (713), Cleveland, Ohio, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Mar 7, 2008 On tap pours a black color with a dark coffee aroma. Light tan head fades quickly and laces the glass well. Good malty body and has a sweet dark roasted finish. jmikolich (405), Athens, Ohio, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 5, 2008 22oz, bought recently and tried fresh, This is a bit of a surprise, usually boulder is average but this one is pretty darn good. Pours a nice deep dark brown with only the slightest light seeping through the edges of my Kapittel Goblet. This is smooth drinking and leaves the backend of the taste with some woody flavors. not a hugely creamy stout, but easy to swig and even easier to sip... this one is pretty darn good, reminiscent of Old Raspy and the like. corby112 (706), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

Aroma of roasted malt, oatmeal, coffee and chocolate. Lots of oatmeal upfront followed by a smooth roasted coffe and chocolate maltiness. Slightly dry finish. fakepurseninja (777), Washington, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 3, 2008 Rich and roasty, lots of flavor from all over the place. Wood is very evident with many earthy notes and even what seems like a peppermint bite. Some small chocolate bitterness and maybe a tad bit of smoke with a bit of a grassy finish. Nice drink, very interesting and eclectic. rlgk (3377), Vårgårda, Sweden
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 3, 2008 Draught at Hop Devil, NYC. Dark amber, almost black color, small brownish head. Malty chocolate aroma, cocoa, vanilla, some licorice and with oak notes. Chocolate flavor, roasted, cocoa, milk, cream, some licorice. Quite nice body and with a hoppy finish. beerinmarch (2781), Alabama, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 24, 2008 I thought the beer said Imperial Stout, so on first taste I was kinda let down, thats what I get for not reading. The stout was solid, roasty with a bitter chocolate flavor up front, higher carbonation made it light on the palate but really brought out the bitterness. Chocolate malts gave a dark roasty earthy/charred quality to the finish. The price was very high for a stout, not many stouts that cost $7 out here unless they are imperial, maybe that was my confusion. alexsdad06 (1080), Ohio, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 23, 2008 22 oz. bottle shared by Tmoney99. Pours black with a small beige head. The aroma has mild sweetnes, roasted malt, funk (veggies ?), and chocolate. The flavor is a mess of light cocoa, chocolate, earthy, and theslightest hint of nuts. Faily thin. Not very impressive.
