Commercial Description:
Oak-aged oatmeal stout as dark in color as deep space. Again Obovoid on oak adds earthy character to the roasted notes and bittersweet chocolate finish derived from the black and chocolate malts.

Pours almost black in color with large light brown head. The head is mostly lasting with excellent lacing. The aroma is malty with chocolate hints, roasted coffee with a hint of grain. The initial flavor is bitter, roasty a little coffee a little cocoa. The body is medium, the texture creamy/watery with soft carbonation.

Had on draft at Brews. Pour was dark brown with nice creamy tan head. Aroma was all coffee. Taste was pretty much dry roasted coffee. I did not taste the barrell aged, or any hint of sweetness in this one. Easy drinker, but the flavors did not jump out as I had hoped.

Pour is a dark black with a large tan head. Aroma is chocolate and coffee with a hint of the oak, I think that is what they were going for in this beer. Flavor is a super rich coffee, almost like an espresso. Finish has a bit of the oak. Not oaked out the wazoo like some beers but a decent stout with just the right amount of the oak-aging going on.

Just a kiss of oak adds to the roasty sweet medium body. Smooth, but bitter enough to wake up your taste buds. Nicely done stout.

Poured a dark ruby color from a 22-oz bottle with a big beige head. Aroma of dried fruit along with chocolate and a hit on oak. The taste was of roasted malt, chocolate with some woody and vanilla flavors coming through. Was very smooth.

(22oz bottle) Very dark brown topped by persistent and slightly rocky tan head that leaves nice lacing. Aroma is moderately sweet, coffee/roast, fudge/milk chocolate, confectionery sugar. Taste is roast/coffee, some nut/salty, cocoa/chocolate, earthy, light wood. Some earthiness, but most of the bitterness is from the coffee maltiness. Smooth medium body, no sign of alcohol.
