Commercial Description:
Oak-aged oatmeal stout as dark in color as deep space. Again Obovoid on oak adds earthy character to the roasted notes and bittersweet chocolate finish derived from the black and chocolate malts.

on tap at kelly’s. pours an opaque black with a decent tan head, which leaves a few hints of lacing. fairly strong molasses nose, with hints of roasted malts and cocoa, and quite a strong fruity character, dominated by raisins and grapes. fairly dominant vanilla taste, with more roast malts, dark fruits, and molasses. fairly sweet finish with a light bitterness that doesn’t quite balance properly. medium to full body with a silky mouthfeel, and quite a bit of carbonation. a bit too fruity and light for a stout. i’d prefer more roasty malts and cocoa notes in place of the grapeyness. not horrible, just not overwhelming in its wonderfulness.

Looks delicious! black, light tan head, amber around the edges when held to light. Smells roasty and chocolaty.fells smooth and silky in the mouth like an oatmeal stout should. tastes good much like it smells but the way it feels in the mouth is where its at. Only problem needs more booze.

Pours an attractive looking black with a thick tan head. Mild cocoa and espresso with an earthy roasted malt aroma. Light powered cocoa taste with some mild tannic notes on the dry finish. Palate a bit thin for the tastes here., but still a real nice stout.

Surprisingly nice roasty chocolately aroma, some hopping coming through, taste is a slightly watery burst of chocolate and roast, with a coffee ground finish, finish is thindon’t get much oak nor any of the normal oatmeal smoothness,a little disappointing after great start

Aroma is slight cappuchino but mostly deep dark chocolate, smells great. Flavor is more on the oatmeal side with some lingering alcohol, chocolate comes through but not nearly as much as in the aroma.

Very black, with cocoa-tan head...nice lookin’... Rich and roasty nose, loads of espresso & cream, bittersweet, with caramel & chocolate hints, too... Creamy, chocolatey flavor, yum...Cadbury’s chocolate easter egg, that’s it! That’s where the name comes from...LoL! Milk chocolate. Delish! Fullish bodied, moderate length finish, and altogether pleasing....sweetish taste, but good texture, fine and easy drinking....and loads of smooth, reassuring oatmeal. A big, burly oatmeal stout. And at an abv reaching up towards an RIS. Love it, personally. This one’s right up my alley. Good stuff.
