Oakes (6853), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Jan 14, 2008 Hazy dark chestnut. Straightup fudge & coffee nose. Somewhat light "foreign" body with vague icing sugar sweetness. Very nutty. A little underwhelming. kp (6200), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Dec 17, 2007 Date: 12/15/2007

argo0 (6167), Washington DC, USA Feb 12, 2008 (22oz bottle) Very dark brown topped by persistent and slightly rocky tan head that leaves nice lacing. Aroma is moderately sweet, coffee/roast, fudge/milk chocolate, confectionery sugar. Taste is roast/coffee, some nut/salty, cocoa/chocolate, earthy, light wood. Some earthiness, but most of the bitterness is from the coffee maltiness. Smooth medium body, no sign of alcohol. CaptainCougar (4633), Rockville, Maryland, USA Dec 15, 2007 Pours a semi-transparent dark mahogany with a spotty-lacing light tan head. Aroma of lightly sweet and earthy dark malts with a touch of roast. Starts with some nice dark caramel and roasted malts and a touch of licorice. FInishes thinner and dark chocolatey sweet with some nice roasty notes. A pretty good stout. BückDich (4540), Boise, Idaho, USA Jul 8, 2008 Bottle: Pours a black color with an off-white head and nice lacing. The nose is ripe and roasty with plenty of chocolate and cocoa notes, some oaky notes but I was hoping for more vanilla and less astringency, but that’s probably from bourbon aging I recon. The flavor is nice and roasty with a mild hop bite in the tail and subtle roast astringency. A creamy mouthfeel and flavor. Good oatmeal stout!
