Baking chocolate leaps out under some ashy smoke and a nutty flavor which seems like its been roasted 100 times to induce bittering. Is there salt water here? I don’t mind the texture or the hops. It seems a bit overcarbonated. Seems overrated at the 84th percentile.

Aug 26, 2008 Bottle. Thanks to Santa. Poured a dark black body with thin head. aroma is roasted chocolate malt, oak. Flavor is light oak, chocolate, coffee and roasted malt with a light hoppiness to it. Smooth and quite delicious.

Aug 25, 2008 Pour is a dark brown with light tan head. Roasty malt, chocolate, oats, oak, and a bit of smoke. Thin, but silky mouthfeel. Pretty decent stout.

Aug 24, 2008 Darker brown pour with a slightly oaky aroma that mixes with chocolate, and roasty malts. Flavor is a bit chocolatey and roasty with a kind of one demensional oak profile. Smooth, but weaker feel. Not bad, but I was hoping for more.
