Bomber split with Tronraner. Pours a dark red/brown which looks near black in dim light. The head is a tan ring after just a minute. Serious straight-up oak is noted in the aroma. I get brown rice, oats, earth, and baking chocolate as well. The mouthfeel is medium. Strong oaky presence in the flavor as well, but it works very well with the ashy, oaty body. A little chocolate comes out in the finish to round out things. This is a grainy, earthy, and woody beer. I like it.

From a 22oz. bottle purchased at Johns Marketplace in Portland, OR--Poured a deep dark black body with a big fluffy grey-brown head. Chocolaty aroma iwth big gritty maltiness. Great subtle oak chip flavor with some creamy, milky oat presence in there. Not too bold or thick, but very enjoyable and rich.

I like a nice deep black beer. Now this one isn’t Ten FIDY black or anything. Slightly lighter shade of colorlessness than that. But still nice.

Coffee and fruity malt aroma. Very dark brown color with a small dark tan head. Initially smooth then quickly turning bitter. Finishes with a smoky wood bitterness. Average stout palate.

Tasting at Holiday Beerfest in Omaha: Pitch black pour; nice off white head. Malty aroma with roasted nuts in here too. Sweet oatmeal flavor with malty chocolate in the background. Bitter finish...not much note of the oak however. Overall a good drink!

A delicious stout that I can’t believe I haven’t tried until now. Aroma was nice and big. Dark chocolate with a hint of oak and a sweet coffee smell. Pour was a deep dark brown/black with a one finger tan head. Taste was delicious. Bittersweet dark chocolate fills the mouth with. Very creamy mouthfeel. A little coffee in the aftertaste with hints of vanilla and just a faint oak flavor throughout. It’s refreshing to have an oak aged beer where the wood just enhances and doesn’t overpower.

22 oz bomber. Nice deep dark brown, light head with traces that linger a while. Not an overpowering stout, and almost a little light tasting, but after a few sips the roasted taste is very evident. Not bad at all, but not something I would keep on my gotta have more of list.
