Commercial Description:
Oak-aged oatmeal stout as dark in color as deep space. Again Obovoid on oak adds earthy character to the roasted notes and bittersweet chocolate finish derived from the black and chocolate malts.

not an imperial stout? 22 oz bottle pours near-black with a head that’s slightly darker than "cream" color. roasted aroma, and fairly green - some oaky aromas but they’re certainly behind the black and burnt elements. medium-bodied (especially considering the label and name would suggest that it’s an imperial stout); roast barley and oak flavors dominate and there are only traces of hops and vanilla. there are far better stouts to be had, especially for the price, although it’s not bad. my next one had better be free or on clearance if there are other stouts available.

Bottle from 2007. Dark brown pour with fluffy brown head and thin spotty lace. Roast aroma, almost smoky. Silky mouth-feel with hints of; Oak, roast, chocolate, and a dry finish

Bottle. Thanks to Santa. Poured a dark black body with thin head. aroma is roasted chocolate malt, oak. Flavor is light oak, chocolate, coffee and roasted malt with a light hoppiness to it. Smooth and quite delicious.

Pour is a dark brown with light tan head. Roasty malt, chocolate, oats, oak, and a bit of smoke. Thin, but silky mouthfeel. Pretty decent stout.

Darker brown pour with a slightly oaky aroma that mixes with chocolate, and roasty malts. Flavor is a bit chocolatey and roasty with a kind of one demensional oak profile. Smooth, but weaker feel. Not bad, but I was hoping for more.
