Nitro draft at Khyber Pass. Pitch black pour with a huge creamy tan head. Not much aroma due to large head. Tastes like an uber-dark chocolate malted milk shake. Creamy and sweet up front then switches to a lingering finish of nice bitter burnt barrel notes. Creamy mouthfeel, assisted by the nitro. Pleasant dark earthy flavors as well.

Tap at Jacobs Pickles UWS.. Pour is a muddy brown with thick root beer float head. Aroma is sweet oats, oak, chocolate. Taste is coffee, sweet chocolate, oak, vanilla. Thin body with velvety texture. Not at all what I was expecting from an oak aged oatmeal but interesting in a very unique way.

Beautiful dark pour with an ample long lasting head. Very tasty bourbon and oats. One of the best stouts i’ve had.

On nitro tap. Pours a dark brown, almost black permitting very little light through. Caramel nitro head as expected, about a finger high. Underlying oatmeal stout is apparent with notes of chocolate and nut above. Palate wasn’t excellent, I was expecting slightly better. Solid choice, excellent on nitro.

Nitro draft at Hopcat. Black with typical nitro head. Aroma of roasted malt, bitter cocoa, slight oak. Flavor follows suit and offers a slight smokey, burnt aspect to the billing. Basic and simple, yes. Enjoyable, absolutely.

Draft. Pours black with a finger if light tan head. Aroma of chocolate and coffee. Taste is light bitter. Coffee with some dark chocolate. Full bodied with a thick texture. Soft carbonation and a very long finish. Overall, great!

Pours very dark brown with a thick, lingering, beige head. Aroma of oatmeal, chocolate, a little oak. Flavor about the same, but a really sweet taste that doesn’t fit well with the oak aging. A decent beer with a nice smooth texture

New Beer Distributors, NY 650ml ($5): Pours black with creamy light brown head. Aroma is roasted malt and dark, bitter chocolate, along with a bit of dark roast coffee. Taste is somewhat sweet. Mouthfeel is pretty thick. Leaves a rather sticky taste in the mouth. Some amount of bitterness. This is a pretty good stout, which is more like an imperial stout.

Nitro tap at Boulder Beer. Pours a dark, opaque brown with a finger of creamy tan head. Great retention and nice lacing. Malty, roasted, chocolate, nutty aroma. Roasty oatmeal, chocolate, caramel, and malt flavors, with a mildly bitter malt finish that becomes more noticeable as you drink it. Nitro tap gives it an incredibly smooth mouthfeel with medium body. Mild, slightly bitter finish that lingers. An excellent oatmeal stout.
