2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
On tap at the Bocktown. Pleasantly attractive roasty dark beer aroma. Blackish bwrown with red tinge that is readily apparent. Barelt any head. Not much carbonation. Not as strong as an impy stout but it certainly has those impy stout characters. Decently mild but the alky impact still exists. Overall not a bad stout but is certainly too much for my sweet stout taste buds.

dark thick black pour, some white head, choc and dark malts on the nose, flavor is coffee on the start and choc. odd mouth feel, not bad but odd, very easy drinking, i as others didnít really get much of the oak.

3.3 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Really nice aroma of roasted barley and slightly smoky dark chocolate. Mildly thin black in color with lots of garnet accents, although the huge head makes up for it. The oak makes its presence known on the flavor. Fairly oakey and earthy, it tops off the chocolate and roasted malts (if you are into that sort of thing). Some ashtray at the swallow. Rather thin and wispy. Kind of a letdown.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
A pretty nice stout, I think fair to call it a dry stout on the strongish side. Characterized by strongly roasted malt aromas and flavors, with a background of coffee and bitter chocolate. Medium-full mouthfeel, easy dry finish. Good partner to grilled shrimp as it turned out.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
1 pint 6 oz bottle pours pretty black with a monsterous and clingy head and pull away lace. The aroma is roasty, chocolaty, and inviting. The flavor is roasty, malty, sweet, and ever so slightly lactic. There is a lingering slight bitterness. There is no trace of alcohol flavor; very mild this one for the ABV listed. The palate is fairly rich, but not overly so. Decent cabonation exists. Overall, very nice - canít complain.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Aroma is a deep rich sweet roasted scent. Color is black with good carbonation and a thick tight tan head. Taste is sweet and roasted. Starting with a full body that goes down sweet with a slight crisp feel then a bold roasted flavor and faint bitterness. After taste has a very faint oak taste that fades into mild bitterness and very light alcohol like feel. Its a nice Oatmeal Stout but not a stand out like the other brews in the Looking Glass series.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz. bomber served in a shaker pint. Pours an opaque black with a thick off white head. Slight chocolate malt aroma with a hint of oak.
Nice creamy mouthfeel. Not a lot of roasted barley more to the chocolate malt side. Fairly sweet up front. Long dry finish with some more chocolate.
Decent beer, but the oak character didnít really seem very evident.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Notes from 11/24/07. 22oz bottle, no date. Hazy deep, deep ruby brown with a one finger beige head, fair retention. Roasted malts are the strongest in the aroma, followed by some coffee (acidity and all), light oats and dark chocolate. I canít pick up on any oak at this time. Flavor was wet wood--hooray the oak is now present, though not dominant. Roasted malts with not much sweetness and a dry coffee ashy finish. Bitterness peaks at a 3. Medium creamy body with moderate carbonation. Pretty good.

Bottle shared with Hogtown Harry, Blankboy, and GregClow, Harryís bottle. Nice dry oatmeal aroma, with some dry chocolate as well. Great taste - dry, sweet chocolate, medium carbonated body. Black with lots of brown hints, big fizzy brown head. This one packs a tremendous amount of flavour with no trace of alcohol. A great stout.
