COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A perfect companion any way you pass time, this British-style pale ale is exceptionally soft and sweet compared with highly hopped American-style pale ales. The hop subtlety, distinct malt character and rich caramel color of Pass Time Pale Ale work together to create a smooth, lightly carbonated ale.

Hazy amber with a thin off-white head and thin lacing. Aroma of light floral hops, vegetal stock and caramel. Body is a tad thin and taste is kind of bland with caramel, and light hops, definitely more malted than hopped up. Slightly below average on this joe below average EPA.

Golden pour with a bit of orange color. Small white head. Malty aroma with some potato chips(yes). Flavor is lightly hoppy and holy shit the tast of Lay’s potato chips. Weird stuff. Not so great either.

Slightly hazy orange, frothy white head fades. Aroma of sweet fruit, caramel, very little hop. Taste is juicy sweetness, not much hop again, any hop character is floral. Below average, lacking, too sweet, thin body, high carbonation.

Pours a clear honey color. Aroma of wet blanket and floral hops. The blanket smell subsides as the beer warms. Taste is of pine with a hint of floral and a slightly sweet malt taste. Better as it sets in the glass.

12 oz bottle purchased as a single at MDL Wine and Spirits in Overland Park, Kansas. OCT2809 printed on the bottle. Pour is slight haze yellow golden with a fluffy 2 inch off white head. Head falls quick with minimal lacing. Aroma of mild cracker grain maltiness and a touch of sweet floral hops. Some earth and mineral comes out as it warms. Overall a pretty subdued nose. Taste is grainy sweet maltiness, pretty decent shot of diacetyl and the bitter sweet floral hops. Sweet in a mechanical sort of way, not very clean. Palate is medium, low carbonation. Not terribly drinkable. I had this beer ages ago, and remembered liking it much better than this. Perhaps this was a bad bottle.

Color is a clear and bright orange. Lots of carbonation. Unstable puffy head. Clear but doesn’t appear watery. Nice smell of a slightly pale pub ale. Sweet bready malt with a hint of paleness. Mild, slightly sweet hop. Very mild and balanced. Taste is an understated pale malt with pleasant mild hops. Quite good. Not bitter at all. The pale malt is a tad chlorine-ish, but also flowery. Pretty good metallic aftertaste. It’s thicker than expected. Dry on the tongue. Dances a bit. Champagne feel to some degree. Overall it’s a nicely balanced pale ale. Not too bitter, not too pale. Pretty darn good.

Lubiere (6988) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 8, 2009
A golden ale with a thin creamy off white head. A light sweet malt with cinnamon notes. In mouth, a raspy sweet nutty malt, with faint British hops, a bit cloying. At Boulder Beer Tap House, DEN, August 28 2009.
