3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap. Pours deep, dark brown with average, fizzy beige head; short retention and some lacing. Aroma is light roast malt, chocolate, coffee, figs, light floral hops, and a hint of ash. Flavor is roast malt forward with some earthy hops and dark fruit esters; dries out towards the end with a chocolate and smoke finish. Light/medium body and low carbonation.

12oz bottle, best by 9/25/12. Black color. Thin khaki head. Some lace. Smooth, lighter carbonation. Lighter body. More dry texture. Light toasty malt. Light cocoa, but itís mostly just kind of watered down. Little earthy hops. Light bitter taste, some sweet. Fine, respectable porter

2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle. Dark brown, tan head. Smells of chocolate, smoke. Tastes of apples and burnt, not in a good way. Once you take a sip the only flavor that lingers in your mouth is the burnt one. Itís really not very enjoyable. Not well balanced, not good.

Tried this on tap at Ernie's bar & pizza in Denver, CO. Great medal winning porter with malty coffee flavors, hints of roasted nuts and chocolate. Good beer.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at Denver Center City Marriott. Dark pour, usual porter stuff. Slight lactic notes among a roasted malt profile and a slight fruity sweetness that was also not really appealing. Okay. Meh.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle -pours really dark ruby with a finger of tan head that quickly vanishes and thin lacing. Noise is roasted chocolate and coffee. Flavor adds water. Thin body, geez. Bitter due to roastedness. A light porter. Thatís it.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
Dark brown, amber hues, no head. Interesting aroma. Sort of a burnt woody scent. Some chocolate malts. Ugh. Taste is a let down. Very burnt, chcoolate and smoked. semi-sweet chocolate at the finish.
