Draught; black bodied with thin brown head. Aroma was of chocolate raisin, some strawberry, mocha, and citrus. Flavor was actually quite noticeably of strawberry, some raisin, chocolate, roast coffee, slightly sweet with hints of lactose, and a slight citrus in the finish. The fruitiness was rather surprising and perhaps more apparent due to the meal, however it was very interesting and quite refreshing.

Dec 29, 2009 A beautiful black pour with red highlights and a frothy tan head. A malty caramel and chocolate aroma with traces of coffee. It has a creamy texture with medium sweetness. It has a smooth chocolate mixed with light coffee and a hint of bitterness in the finish.

Dec 27, 2009 Pours a dark brown with a beige head that fades to a ring. Malty nose some roasted malts and cola. Dry earthy chocolate and roasted malts that have an odd finish. Slightly bitter but not that good and not interesting at all.

Dec 17, 2009 Pours a dark brown/black. Aroma of coffee with a hint of molasses. Taste is somewhat bitter with a heavy coffee flavor. Dry finish. Not bad.

Dec 10, 2009 Pours mahogany-tinged black into a shaker. Mocha head quickly recedes leaving scant sheets. Mild carob aromas. Smooth and light with mild chocolate and smoke and an abrupt, watery finish.

Dec 2, 2009 Bottle. Pours a black body with a yellow tan head. Ash y chocolate aroma with some mineral and light chalky vanilla hints. A moderate roast y body with a thin body and a subtle dry ash and light malt y chocolate tones. Thin and simple but a decent session porter.

Nov 15, 2009 Bottle. Dark brown, almost black color. Pours with a thick tan colored head that doesn’t stick around long. Smells nutty and smokey with some roasted smells and a little bit of chocolate in the background. Taste followed the smell with the roasted, nutty flavor. Lots of malt and there’s definitely a smokey flavor going on here. Very drinkable. Good overall beer.

Nov 13, 2009 This is way a porter should be in my opinion. Big and robust, no time for messing around. Something serious in this beer. Dark brownish black colour with a full frothy head. Creamy and nutty, rich roasted malts on the nose with some toasted oats as well. Taste has that little hotness from the alcohol. but its so balanced and so pleasent. Thanks Brandon for the good beer!
