Our twist on the traditional american porter, Shake chocolate porter is black in color with rich, dark chocolate aromatics and flavors and subtle coffee-like notes. This unique brew blends five different grains, including Chocolate Wheat, that along with cacao nibs create a devilishly delicious chocolate finish with a velvety mouth feel.

Draft. Pours black with thick creme colored head that lingers. Smellsike a chocolate shake with mild carbonation. This was served on nitro. Thick, chocolate, sweet, yum. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Talk about a Wendy’s frosty of beer. The chocolate notes hit your nose right away, with a nice coffee chaser. Very degree color on it. Would make an excellent dessert beer.

Draft at Blue Monk. Pours a nice deep black with a small white head. Kind of looked like instant coffee does. Aroma of chocolate and coffee hit the nose. Taste was similar to a chocolate shake. Smooth and creamy. On the lighter side for a beer. Not a bad offering at all.

Appearance: very dark brown, with ruby edging when backlight; half a finger of extremely creamy foam the color of a Wendy’s frostee; minimal lacing. Aroma: blast of sweet milk chocolate, vanilla, heavy whipping cream, and hershey’s syrup; there is a hint of graham cracker and nuts. Taste: dark, bittersweet chocolate up front, then a blast of milk chocolate sweetness (like a pudding cup), vanilla, light toasted nuts and a hint of roast coffee. Finish: lasting sweetness, almost lactic, with chocolate flavors sticking around quite awhile. Notes: Palate is silky smooth and rich, flavors are chocolate-dominated and very sweet. Liked it quite a bit. Would have liked just a hint more roasty bitterness to balance, but it’s hard to find much fault in this one.

Standard 12oz bottle, bad label. Coffee pour, fluffy oatmeal head. Aroma is more parched nuts than roast and chocolate. Lot of bittersweet chocolate right up front - lightly sweet, cocoa-bitter, a bit acidic. Medium body, sometimes almost feels a bit light. Bitter cocoa aftertaste. For all its alleged complexity, it comes off as rather one-note and simplistic. Better than random average, less than expected. ABC, Betton.

draft at Blue Monk, Buffalo NY, chocolate brown pour, full & creamy body. huge chocolate aroma. chocolate dominated beer, not a ton of "beery" characteristics that shine here. real tasty though.

Nice chocolate milkshake aroma. Pours black with good head and lacing. Light cream aroma with chocolate and lots of roast. Medium bitter finish. Creamy consistency. Tap at Wharf Rat.

Poured from bottle in mix six pack, pours pretty much black with a thin tan head and spotty lacing, aroma is heavy chocolate and roast, smells pretty awesome, the flavor has a lot of chocolate on the front end with some burnt malt in the finish, maybe a little bit of coffee, dang, good stuff

This is the most chocolate that I’ve ever tasted in a beer. This porter lives up to its name and has a chocolate shake feel to it. Creamy in texture with chocolate throughout. Finishes sweet. Excellently put together and I really enjoyed this one.

Very rich flavors poured from the bottle. Like chocolate cake with a smooth mouthfeel. Some would think this too sweet, but it definitely fits the bill as a dessert beer. Lots of cocoa with no malt graininess. Maybe coffee in the finish, but surely still sweet.
