Our twist on the traditional american porter, Shake chocolate porter is black in color with rich, dark chocolate aromatics and flavors and subtle coffee-like notes. This unique brew blends five different grains, including Chocolate Wheat, that along with cacao nibs create a devilishly delicious chocolate finish with a velvety mouth feel.

Lots and lots of chocolate in the nose and in the taste. It's a mix of sweet milk chocolate and dark chocolate with some other underlying sweetness. Good beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Milk chocolate and roasty malt aroma. Deep mahogany with a large tan head. Roasty malt and milk chocolate flavor. Medium body, lively carbonation.

In your face aroma from sweet artificial chocolates, but there’s something that has me sitting there and inhaling the stuff for a long time. Besides the obvious cocoa there’s vanilla and mild malts. Taste is chocolate milk with an earthier and slightly herbal touch. Mild coffee with milk chocolates. A bit thin in the body, but really delish.

[ As Boulder Beer Shake Chocolate Porter ].
Clear medium to dark red brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, chocolate, artificial chocolate, light roasted. Flavor is heavy sweet with a long duration, chocolate, artificial. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20140813]

Just a mild chocolate flavor. I'd like a little more. Overall good Porter but maybe just a slight aftertaste that isn't my favorite. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured a murky medium brown with a beige head. Aroma was big milk chocolate and some caramel. Flavor was really like a chocolate milkshake, extremely frothy and creamy, and chocolatey. Good.

On tap at industry. Pours a dark brown with a frothy white head. Aromas of pretty much chocolate. Taste is sweet and smooth. Taste is pretty much like a milk shake. Maybe a new guilty pleasure favorite.

Beautiful beer, opaque black with a creamy tan head. Some roast espresso notes, very prominent chocolate. Lacto sweetness. Slight bit of roasted bitterness. Fairly sweet. Long kinda watery finish, medium body, kinda chewy. Balance is a bit off, very one note. Pleasant enough.

Just a taster at Fox & Hound Aurora, served on nitro. It may be unfair to rate this right after a Not Your Father’s Root Beer, but let’s see how this one goes. Very deep brown, almost black, more like a Stout except the head is a tad lighter. Smell is distinctly of chocolate roast malt more than chocolate addition. But not roasty or astringent. Taste settles more into a sweet Stout neighborhood. Perhaps it’s because of the desire to bring in a cocoa character. After a few sips, though, my nose does pick up a sense of chocolate bar. But this actually comes in pretty dry. A little smoother than a roasty stout, a bit more flavor than a porter. That is not a bad position to be in.

I really love this beer, well at least out of a nitrogen tap where it keeps its head because with the head when you put it to your mouth you get the smell of a chocolate milkshake. The taste is really in the combination smell of your mouth and nose at the same time. Light for heavy of a head, easy to drink and far better than a hot chocolate if you are drinking for comfort inside.
