COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our twist on the traditional american porter, Shake chocolate porter is black in color with rich, dark chocolate aromatics and flavors and subtle coffee-like notes. This unique brew blends five different grains, including Chocolate Wheat, that along with cacao nibs create a devilishly delicious chocolate finish with a velvety mouth feel.

Black pour with a brown head. Aroma is chocolate. Taste is chocolate right away. Creamy, lightly burnt malt, bitterness at the end. Cocoa in the lasting after taste. Great lacing.

Poured from a bottle. Great frothy brown head, good lacing, a harbinger of smoothness to come. Surprising coffee aroma, not as much on the taste. Good beer, makes me proud to be a Buffalo.

Smells very much like chocolate milk. The main problem is that the flavor isn’t as satisfying as the aroma. A little thin.

On tap at Warren’s Ale House in Wheaton, IL., and nitro dispensed to a fluted sampler, showing a cascading effect that settled to a dark brown hue, with some amber highlighting, silky & tight, light tan head foam, and thick, wavy cling to the lacing. The nose was Hershey-like milk chocolate, and creaminess. The taste included mocha notes, modest bitterness, and soft carbonation, in a light to medium body, with texture that was a little watery, but on the whole, fairly tasty.

Bought 4 bottles of this at the GGBF 2014. I found the 1st bottle disappointing, but thereafter i’ve found it to be pretty good. It’s not a stunner, but is a pleasantly chocolatey beer.

Pours very dark brown. Small white head. Smell is pure chocolate indeed. Taste is pure chocolate, sweet with a bitter touch. Good mouthfeel, perfect carbo. Ending is pure chocolate powder. Lovely beer!

Pours jet black with a thick mocha head. Aroma of milk chocolate, vanilla and lactose. Taste is silky chocolate, cream, vanilla. Really chocolately. Nice chewy mouthfeel.

Bottle. Very deep brown liquid with medium light tan head. Aroma of chocolate, light vanilla, light coffee, cocoa powder and coconut. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with notes of chocolate, vanilla and raw sugar. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Decent.

Bottle from Wally’s in Westwood - had an "enjoy by" date of October ’14 (3 months ago) - what’s up with that, Wally? Very dark brown, not quite black, with a tan head and nice lace. Aromas of malt, milk chocolate and cocoa powder. Tastes like what it says it is, just tons of sweet milk chocolate and cocoa, maybe a hint of coffee. Medium body, minimal carbonation, creamy mouthfeel, and chocolate, chocolate and chocolate in the finish.

On Nitro at the yard house... Pours an opaque black with a huge dense frothy creamy brown head. Aroma of chocolate, cocoa and coffee. Taste is sweet chocolate, coffee, cocoa and a touch of roast on the finish that gives it a semi dry finish and makes this beer delicious and easy to drink.
