Bottle poured into a nonic pint glass. Pours a dark brownish black with a finger of tan head receding to a ring around the glass. Light lacing. Aromas of dark and milk chocolate, caramel, vanilla, light roast, cream. Smells pretty much like a rich milkshake. Tasting notes of dark chocolate, caramel, light vanilla, cocoa, light roast. Medium-light body with a dry finish. Oily light mouthfeel, medium carbonation. Wasn’t digging the taste at first but maybe it warming up helped.

Pours a very dark brown, with thin tan head. Aroma of malty milk chocolate. Taste is sweet and chocolatety, and not very complex. This one tastes just fine, but is not excellent. Thumbs up.

On tap in kegerator. Pours a dark brown color with tannish head. Aroma is sweet and chocolatey. Light body for a porter but incredible velvety chocolate flavor for such a low abv beer. Not very complex but prominent chocolate flavor is delicious. Excellent head retention. One of my favorite porters.

On tap at Brunzies. Rich cocoa and coffee, Tootsie Roll, espresso. Rich and malty. Dark black opaque with creamy nitro head, light tan in color, lacing. Medium body with nitro carbonation. Mild flavors of chocolate, espresso, and Tootsie Roll. Light nutty bitterness with not much lasting bitterness. Big sweet after but short of cloying; a little watery.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours dark brown with a faint ring of lace - the aroma mostly just smells like Hersey’s chocolate syrup - flavor is much the same, but at least has some balancing bitterness and roast, as well as a touch of coffee bean and moderate acidity - meh.
