4.2 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
A dark reddish black beer with a small tan head. The aroma is roasted malt, lots of chocolate, just delicious. The flavor is full of chocolate , a little thin bodied like a Carnation instant breakfast with skim milk.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz. bottle at Arthur’s, poured into a pint glass. Pours a deep, dark brown - not opaque, though, as it shows some copper throughout - with a finger of foamy tan head. Light lace. The aroma and flavor are pretty much the same - the chocolate wheat and cacao nibs create a two-headed monster of sweet chocolaty character, with vanilla and coffee. But the mouthfeel also has a bit of a metallic note that keeps it from being a really good chocolate porter. Light-medium bodied, with medium carbonation and a sweet, metallic mouthfeel. Not bad, but could and should be better.

Keg at Capital Ale House Harrisonburg. Pours a clear dark brown with a large creamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of chocolate ice cream, vanilla, mild roast. The taste is roasted malts, chocolate, mild fruits. Medium bodied, low carbonation.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap, poured into a sampler. This beer is exactly as advertised. Smells like chocolate malts, chocolate cake, chocolate in general. Yeah, I’m pretty sure they hit what they were going for here. It pours pitch black with a gelatin tan, whipped head. A thick, even surface layer is retained throughout the drink and a solid, snowy sheet lace is left behind. The taste is a medium high sweet with a medium bitter. It’s a combination of a creamy and slick texture with lots of soft carbonation and a medium full chocolate body. Did I mention the chocolate aspects? Cause, yeah, it finishes with chocolate, and chocolate lingers. It’s a perfect adult chocolate milkshake (if served colder - but I liked the temperature it was at). If I were a chocolate fanatic, my overall would’ve probably been a 20.

Poured into shaker from nitro tap. Pours a dark brown with rich, creamy, 1 finger thick tan head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, cream. Tastes a whole lot like a chocolate shake or a mudslide. Impressive cocoa flavor with rich, creamy mouth feel. Awfully delicious.

I saw the good reviews and high score but i was left a little dissapointed, the flavor is weak and overly chocolate, too sweet for my taste

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On nitro tap at Apex, pours a deep dark mahogany with large beige head. Aroma smells like pure melted chocolate. Flavour is identical, with high quality melted dark chocolate. Very smooth palate that makes this very easy to drink. Finishes with a slight astringency. Very nice albeit simple porter.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Unique is right. This porter actually does have some of the tastes characteristics of a chocolate shake. Quite impressive. Dark brown, nice tan head, aroma of coffee and the chocolate. Taste, well, shake, plus roasted malt with a creamy mouthfeel that could use just a tad more body to really pull off the "chocolate shake" thing. Quite good....I want more! On tap @ Brixie’s in Brookfield, IL.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A brown body with a tan head that had nice retention. Mostly cocoa in the aroma a bit of chocolate and roasted malts. Flavor was very similar. It really was like a chocolate shake. Mostly sweet but in a good way. Roasted malts added a subtle bitterness to it. Nice mouth feel. Smooth finish.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Dark brown, clear porter with a tall light tan head. Strong dark chcocolate, not sweet, subtle coffee. Medium palate -- similiar to some stouts except for body. Good -- be in mood for chocolate.
