Opaque, vey dark copper, nitro mousse.
Light body, moderate flavor, good length but dilute finish.
Bitter and dry,
Unmistakable real chocolate, dark roast grains, missing malty sweetness.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12oz bottle poured into a pint glass.
Shake pours black with a thick foamy light tan head that lasts a long while. The aroma is dark chocolate and coffee, however, what stands out is that the chocolate smell is the closest to the actual smell that Iíve ever encountered in a beer. The flavor is dark chocolate with small amounts of coffee and caramel. Again, the chocolate flavor is very well done and delicious. Overall this is a solid beer.

Looks like Porter smells like a chocolate phosphate but was pretty empty on feel. I didnít get any chewiness or depth. I have a sixer to decide. ainít no Anchor or Founders though.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Black pour with a brown head. Aroma is chocolate. Taste is chocolate right away. Creamy, lightly burnt malt, bitterness at the end. Cocoa in the lasting after taste. Great lacing.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured from a bottle. Great frothy brown head, good lacing, a harbinger of smoothness to come. Surprising coffee aroma, not as much on the taste. Good beer, makes me proud to be a Buffalo.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Smells very much like chocolate milk. The main problem is that the flavor isnít as satisfying as the aroma. A little thin.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Warrenís Ale House in Wheaton, IL., and nitro dispensed to a fluted sampler, showing a cascading effect that settled to a dark brown hue, with some amber highlighting, silky & tight, light tan head foam, and thick, wavy cling to the lacing. The nose was Hershey-like milk chocolate, and creaminess. The taste included mocha notes, modest bitterness, and soft carbonation, in a light to medium body, with texture that was a little watery, but on the whole, fairly tasty.

Bought 4 bottles of this at the GGBF 2014. I found the 1st bottle disappointing, but thereafter iíve found it to be pretty good. Itís not a stunner, but is a pleasantly chocolatey beer.
