Tasty, though a little weak for an ale. Really one of the worst labels i have ever seen on a bottle.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: MAR 7, 2007 Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is clear medium amber. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain, cookie), lightly hoppy (apricot, grapefruit), lightly yeasty (dough). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly bitter. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Yet another amber quaffing ale from BBC. A snoozer.

NICE MALT, THIS BEER IS PRETTY GOOD, SOMEWHAT HEAVY AFTER 5 OR 6.IT’S A LITTLE BIT BETTER OUT OF THE TAP, THE BOTTLES TEND TO BE A BIT FIZZY. PROBABLY ONE OF THE BEST BEERS BREWED IN BOULDER, BUT THAT DOESNT SAY MUCH, NOW DOES IT?

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: OCT 3, 2003 Bottle: Big and malty ale with some sourish flavors. Roasted caramel? Or is that baked apples? And as Philly pointed out, it does kind of have a rye quality in the malt. Nonetheless, it has some curious flavors woven in there. Sweet and complex. Slight fruitiness protrudes from the back. Has some bread-like / biscuity properties, which are nice. Would've liked to see some more hops tame out the malt a little more, but that's a hophead talking. Overall, I enjoyed the beer; Rock Bottom Westminster, CO: Roasty and toasty, but not as complex as the bottle version I had. Lower carbonation, milder bitterness and less body, also.

Nice lingering spiciness. The Cascade is understated. Sweetness is subtle. Surprisingly yummy.

Perfect score for the look... penny-colored to perfection. Unremarkable, but presented so well that I am hard pressed to find one negative thing to say. Maybe that in itself qualifies as remarkable.
