2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Tap @ Boulder Beer DIA. Burnt orange appearance with a cream colored head. Mild earthy hoppy, caramel malty nose that’s not too potent. Dull earthy hoppy, not very exciting caramel malty flavor. More boring than I remembered.

12 ounce from Beer Trappe. Light color. Closer to a clean pale ale with some very light caramel. Not outstanding by any means, but drinkable.

3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pour from a 12 oz bottle. Clear amber brew with one finger of white head. Aroma of grassy hops, light malts. Taste is light, a little sweet, offset by a nice hops profile. Grassy hops with a lingering, sour finish that, as with their Pale Ale, takes a little getting used to. No bad.

On tap, as part of a tasting tray enjoyed while patiently waiting out a weather delay in the airport enroute to Chicago.Light golden amber, thin white head. Light caramel malt aroma, hints of dried leaves and metal. Lightly caramel malts, biscuity, lightly bitter hop finish.

Bottle... Poured a clear reddish/amber with an off-white head. Very worty with some toasty, toffee sweetness. Definitely a malt forward Amber. Lots of sweetness, some fruity yeast tones and a subtle finish. Ultimately uninteresting but highly drinkable.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
A light amber/copper color with some burnt orange highlights around the bottom. Hazy. A white, soapy head with not much size and only average retention and lacing. A rather robust malt tone that brought forth some caramel and some wheat bread. Some sweet, sugary notes similar to a baked pear or baked apple. Some of the earthy, "peat" aromas I’m not real fond of however. Maybe a bit of toffee in there too. The taste is a bit more mild and not as robust, but much better balanced than the smell. Again, some caramel malt with the earthy tone. Some of the sugary notes blend in well. Small tinge of bitterness, but not overbearing. Medium mouthfeel. Rather smooth and dry. Leaves touches on the palate. This beer is ok. Not my favorite, but easily drinkable regardless. That "peat" aroma and flavor gets to me after a bit, but I could still down a couple with relative ease. If you see it, pick it up but don’t go out of your way.

A decent cover beer that you can sit around and throw back a bunch of. Nothing ground breaking, just a good beer.
