pumpkinheart (63), Aurora, Illinois, USA May 26, 2008 Bottle into English pint glass. Pours a clear, bright copper with a mid-volume, fizzy head, although it fades quickly. Aroma is faint versions of the usual suspects: caramel-y and toasty malts, hoppy citrus. Not enough to impress, unfortunately. Flavor follows the aforementioned pattern: a poor balance of bitter hops, toasty malts and citrus-floral blah. All too much of the bitter for the other flavors. Palate was astringent and thin. I like ambers, and this one wasn’t actually bad, but it just wasn’t all that good, either. I have another to drink and maybe it will make a better impression.
daknole (695), Plantation, Florida, USA Sep 5, 2008 Clear dark golden pour. Average white head. Aromas of malt and hops wtih some sweet tones in the nose. Flavor is nondescript and pretty boring. Malty and a tiny bit of malt. brigg (128), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Sep 4, 2008 (bottle) Clear copper body, and a big white head with lots of lacing. The aroma has some hops and malt in small but equal measure. The bitterness is somewhat tangy or metallic. It is medium bodied, and has an oily and lightly carbonaceous texture. jrob_21 (847), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Sep 2, 2008 Pours the expected copper color. Slight caramel malt aroma is kinda pleasant. Flavor is a bit sweet with some caramel in there. Finish is a bitter metallic hop finish which I am never a fan of. Bottle brought back from Nashville last trip. Ok common beer but nothing to write home about.
sstackho (249), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 17, 2008 12oz bottle courtesy of my dad. Pours a clear light-medium gold with a bit of head. Nice lacing. Weak malty aroma. Flavour is light-to-medium bodied. Decent maltiness, and a little bit of hop bitterness eventually works its way into the aftertaste as it warms. Not very interesting.
decaturstevo (1193), decatur, Tennessee, USA Aug 17, 2008 Hazed orange/gold pour with tight sticky head and lace. Sweet malt aroma. Semit sweet very good bitter finish. Slightlly off carbonation and thin. Pretty decent beer.
