acrdz (4486), Boulder, Colorado, USA May 28, 2004 Spiced lemon, pepper, grain and corn aroma, typical for a lager but a little better than most. Clear light yellow appearance. Initial flavor is soapy, and the body is very smooth but seriously lacks any flavor, other than a mild lemon and wheat finish. Can?t say it?s bad, it just doesn?t taste like anything. Ernest (4285), Boulder, Colorado, USA Jan 3, 2003 Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, fully diminishing. Body
is clear medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (grain), lightly hoppy
(herbs), with a note of solvent. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly
bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly bitter, unclean. Light to
medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Disgusting macro lager
clone and just as unpleasant. This is further proof of two things: (1)
you don’t need to use adjuncts to make a bad beer, and (2) nothing says
’sell out’ from a microbrewery like making an American Standard/Light.
Isn’t the Buffalo Gold they brew for Walnut flavorless enough for the
masses!? ’No, we need more plastic aroma and chemical aftertaste in our
own creation!’ Arrgh. austinpowers (2828), New York, New York, USA Feb 2, 2005 Crisp and a tad sourish in an unusual sort of way. A touch herbal, almost as if it’s a wheat that’s spiced with coriander. Very watery and light, but the malt has flavor. Nicely done for a light beer. Gusler (2656), Tucson, Arizona, USA Mar 30, 2003 The prototypical lager/pils light golden yellow color on the pour, head small and bright white, and lace adequate. Nose typical lager malt, start sweet, top cadaverous, finish watery, mildly acidic, sparsely hopped, dry and totally forgettable.
Aubrey (2625), Denver, Colorado, USA Dec 29, 2002 Updated: Feb 1, 2003Nice head; clear golden. Crisp and effervescent up front. Toasted bread malt flavors. Pretty thick-bodied for a "light lager." Very little hop flavors/aromas/bitterness. Just a nip of "burnt" bitterness in the aftertaste. I might take it over some other light lagers, but it is rather boring.
