cchubb (73), Minneola, Florida, USA Feb 3, 2007 22oz bottle. Clear, light pour with moderate carbonation. So clear I didn’t know it was a wheat until I checked the label. Light head that lasted 1/2 the glass was nice and fluffy with a lemony, light hop aroma. Tasted more of a light blonde or creme ale than a wheat beer. Highly drinkable with just enough body to give you the sense of a real beer. dmac (1418), Toms River, New Jersey, USA Feb 2, 2007 12 oz bottle. Poured a clear golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma was of hay grass and a lemon. Flavor was light with an odd astringent aftertaste. detroiter (958), Euphoria, Minnesota, USA Jan 13, 2007 Pours a very lightly hazed light gold with half an inch of white foam. Decent head retention and lacing. Clove and mild banana in the aroma.
Somewhat sweet and fruity with candy banana and clove flavors. A hint of dry spice in the finish. Not quite medium body, light carbonation turbo (1254), Arizona, USA Dec 20, 2006 Corn and hops yeast aroma and flavor. To sweet for a wheat.
watery light body.
Blah!! matthewpet (28), USA Dec 8, 2006 Thin body for a Hefeweizen. Flavor is very artificial. Seems like lemon infused as opposed to quality yeast flavoring. Reid (1085), Salem, Oregon, USA Nov 22, 2006 Wow I bought this today in Salem,Oregon and it says here it is a Spring Special.
Oh no
Ah well here goes.
Plain slightly
murky yellow beer small white head.
Apple like scents..as someone else said Apple juice, some hints of wheat, sourness.
Intreesting yeasty/sour flavour permeates, some esters and slightly spicy..now i dont know if this is how this is meant to taste or that the beer has gone off..however if it has gone off the the results are not too bad, adding character.
Palate is Ok..nothing special.
Its drinkable even if it has passed its best days..i liked the funkiness of it..just. pabstsfan777 (43), Unionville, Connecticut, USA Nov 18, 2006 Harsh aroma. Once you get past that the flavor is that of lemons. Aftertaste disapates rather quickkly. It is pallatable. Not the best and not the worst wheat beer I have ever had. Would drink again. shigadeyo (2210), Harrison, Ohio, USA Nov 15, 2006 Well, I’m trying to get through the rest of the Summer beers I have in the fridge so I can move on to the Winter and Holiday Brews. This is the second to last Summer Brew left for me...
Boulder Beer Sweaty Betty Blonde is pale gold (very slightly hazy) in color with moderate carbonation and a foamy white head. The aroma reminded me of apple juice and the smell of the light syrup that canned fruit is packed in. The initial flavor is toasted wheat and then it becomes more like a subtle rock candy and candied fruit (mandarin oranges) combination. The flavors are light, but somehow intriguing and complex. The finish has a hint of yeast and is a little watery. Palate average and not overly carbonated. There is a milky texture to the mouthfeel. This was a good American Wheat beer.
12 oz bottle, $1.10 from Belmont Party Supply (on sale from $1.60).
