jblendy (518), Midland Park, New Jersey, USA Aug 14, 2006 Updated: May 22, 2009Somewhere between a german hefe and a belgian wit. Slight clove and banana with a bit of zest and yeast. Light overall, but well balanced and pleasant. Total lawnmower beer. iowaherkeye (1832), Bakersfield, California, USA Aug 14, 2006 12oz, no date. Pours a hazy pale yellow with a small, white head--looks like a wit. Aroma of grain, citrus, light banana and spices. Taste is much the same. Light bodied, mod carbonation. An above average wheat, and like most wheats, this is pretty refreshing. You don’t necessarily need to seek this one out. kkearn (995), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 13, 2006 I picked up a case on July 4th to share with my family; drinking the final bottle tonight. Pours a hazy golden color with aroma of wheat and spices. Flavor is initially sweet, which gave way to a spicy finish. Above average flavor for an American wheat ale. Gmoney (250), ManchVegas, New Hampshire, USA Aug 7, 2006 bottle... slightly cloudy yellow pour , no lace . sweet malt aroma . flavor is very light some spice and malt . very thin/watery and a bit metallic at the finish . not great Bockyhorsey (2487), Mesa, Arizona, USA Aug 6, 2006 Bottle. Aroma of a stale spicy malts. Golden body with thin white head. Flavor was flat, metalic, spicy and a harsh bitterness. Man this was not good but if you buy it you must drink it. Metalic aftertaste on palate. marchcow (664), Coralville, Iowa, USA Aug 5, 2006 Bottle. I drank this right after drinking a bottle of Franziskaner Hefe so maybe it isn’t a "clean" rating but by comparison it was weak. Almost no head to speak of. Bit of a salt taste on the finish but not bad. Texture was a bit oily. This beer would go well with mexican or other spicy foods. Ibrew2or3 (2714), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Aug 1, 2006 On tap @ Mellow Mushroom. Clear yellow beer with tiny white head. Aroma is strong with bananas, smoked malts, yeast spiciness and some sweet malts. A lot going on. It turns out the big banana aroma isn’t the main flavor. I taste Vienna type malts, yeast spiciness, apples and then some banana. Real interesting beer. hophead75 (1945), Boonton, New Jersey, USA Jul 30, 2006 from a bottle. It pours a hazy straw/yellow. Aroma is bready yeast and banana, a touch of spice. The taste of this beer is banana up front, a touch of lemon and light spicyness throughout the palate. Watery finish, which is acceptable for the style.
