Hazy yellow color with a small head. Aroma is sweet with some fruit. Flavor is slight, smooth and sweet with some fruit and caramel. Simple and good. Basic blond with a good body and some fruit, peach and banana.

don’t know why people aren’t more on board with this beer. I guess it’s cause it’s titled a blonde ale, which is a little miss leading. The color’s right for a blonde, but seeing as it’s a wheat it might throw some off. That being said, going into this beer I was expecting something more along the lines of an american wheat, what I found was more typical of a german wheat. Seeing as how I love german wheats, this beer was a great suprise would make for a great summer bbq beer.

Bottle. Cloudy yellow pour, white head. Aroma of mild banana and clove. Light mouthfeel. Wheat and light citrus flavor. Not terrific, but a nice summer brew.

Pours hazy yellow, smells of cloves and cloying sweetness. Aroma of cloves and banana with a taste full of banana, cloves, and estery sweetness. Not a bad wheat beer.

A: Cloudy milky yellow in color. Some fizz, but nothing too special here. S: Citrus with a splash of vanilla and honey. T: This is a very wheaty beer. There is some honey sweetness and a nice hint of orange. There is some clove spiciness in the background as well. M: Very light beer that goes down easy.

Muddy light blond color. The aroma is light, citrusy and fruity. Weak mouthfeel, light flavor, with very light wheat, light citrus fruits and chamomile. Low bitterness. Refreshing but very simple.

November 2009 Beer of the Month Club , 12/8/09

Aroma: The aroma on this one is fruity up-front (citrus, banana, peach) along with some spice and yeast
Appearance: Pours a quite cloudy yellow color with a bright and a fluffy white head, lots of lace
Flavor: Flavor is pretty sweet with a strong yeast flavor similar to the nose
Palate: This beer has a pretty smooth mouthfeel, it drinks pretty nicely, though it is a bit on the light side
Overall Impression: My overall impression of this one is that it fairly predictable and drinkable. It doesn’t offer a ton outside of that. I’m glad to see the beer of the month club was at least capable of sending me something from Colorado, but Boulder’s stuff isn’t really that hard to find around here. I haven’t had this particular one before though, so I guess that is a semi-victory.

12 oz bottle (Thanks to Pam). It’s interesting that this beer came in a beer of the month package for December, when it clearly is a summertime kind of beer. And overall, really not so bad for an American wheat ale, as there are some decent hefeweizen aspects to it that are nice. On the aroma, some light fruit bread notes and light spice. Kind of smells like a combination of banana bread and lemon cake. It actually turns out that these are the main notes in the flavor as well, except that they are dulled and washed out by the slightly watery and overly sharp body (definitely the biggest weakness here). It finishes a bit differently and seems to be slightly off, but maybe it just that the flavors continue to muddle together as the drink goes along. As the appearance goes, it’s nothing special with a very light looking pale blond body and minimal standard head. So even with those negative aspects, I really didn’t find this to be that bad of a beer as there was still some good things going on.
