RATINGS: 6   MEAN: 3.45/5.0   WEIGHTED AVG: 3.1/5   SEASONAL: Special   EST. CALORIES: 270   ABV: 9%
With the addition of champagne yeast at the end of primary fermentation this version is right around 9% ABV with a big estery finish and a distinct wine like quality. The fruity character of the French style Saison yeast is very distinct with a subtle oak character from its time in the wine barrel. The spicy character on the back of your pallet primarily comes from the tannins of the grapes.

On draft at The Brass Tap, poured a golden color with aromas of white grapes, fruit, pepper and spicy yeast. Flavors are the same, traditional sassion with some light apice and some added wine dryness in the aftertaste. Nice beer overall.

Pour on tap at Dad and Dude’s, hazy orange pour with white head, aroma has notes of white grape, pinot, some hints of fruit, yeast, touch of grain, biscuit, and bread. Taste is a mix of bread, biscuit, toffee, some slight white fruit, peach and pear mostly, touch of earth, some slight wine notes, finishing fairly sweet. Interesting for sure.

Served at Boulder Beer Co, showed up with thick creamy head that dissipated relatively quickly. Pretty light white wine aroma. A light, perfectly hazy copper color. It’s a delicious crisp pinot grigio flavor, followed by the slight farmhouse funk from the saison. Finishes crisp and clean. Would love a bit more saison character.

Draft at Brass Tap in Trinity. Pours a clear golden yellow color with a foamy white head. Saison aroma with a slight oakiness in the back end. Dry mouthfeel with a slightly tart aftertaste. Interesting, but not one I’d want often.

Ah, I see I wasn’t the only one to try this one. Cheers, kp! This was one of my favorite Thirsty Fest beers. I dug the spicy sweetness of this, with the slight sour grape notes on top of a yeasty saison. Dry finish. Yum.
