3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Dogbrick (4828) - Columbus, USA - NOV 19, 2008
Sample at the brewpub. Pours a dark brownish-black color with a medium thin dark beige head that recedes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Roasty aroma with notes of malt and coffee. Medium, dry body with flavors of roasted coffee, malt and light hops. The finish is mildly bitter coffee and hops with a short finish. Average all around.
1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 kathouse (298) - Nevada, USA - JUL 18, 2011
Very disappointed by my favorite style beer. Pours a deep red with a tan top. Does not have the malt character normally associated with a stout. Lots of caramel rather than roasted. Good body but bitter finish from high hop content.

Looks a little pale watery. Smells fine. Flavor has quite a bit of hops up front. Not very heavy. Good but doesn’t seem real stouty.

Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Smells earthy. Tastes of roasted malt and earthy with a light mouthfeel. Tastes more like a brown ale.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 decaturstevo (3669) - decatur, Tennessee, USA - MAR 13, 2009
A beer that looks thin. A hint of toasted malt on the aroma. A tad of toasted malt on the flavor. More body than the appearance would indicate. Another sour off flavor. If this is a stout again " my ass is a jack hammer"

on tap-pours a tan head and black color. Aroma is musty, earthy. Taste is medium malt-slight chocolate, roasty, musty, earthy. The beer wasn’t as enjoyable as the rating would indicate.

Draught in Boulder City. just because it is dark does not make it a stout. Very basic and very simple ’stout’ that was thin on flavor and body.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 patrick767 (2836) - fort wayne, Indiana, USA - OCT 26, 2008
draft at the brewpub - Pours dark brown with a thin, lasting head. It has a mild roast malt aroma. It tastes of roast malt and a little chocolate. It’s simple, straightforward, and much too light for a stout.
2.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 UnholyBrewing (517) - Central Florida(Upper Hell), Florida, USA - APR 21, 2008
...not bad, but not that great either. Basically a decent micro stout, which lacks complexity. Roasted and chocolate notes are hinted, but not nailed.
