COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
While traditionally brewed for spring, we grew impatient and brewed a bock in time for footbal season. This near-black brew gets its color from chocolate, black and two-row malt with a small amount of roasted barley. The noble hop East Kent Golding is combined with Liberty hops and natural blueberries to give this brew a brilliant finish.

Bartender offered me a sample, so who am I to say no? Dark brown beer, unexpectedly for me, with a lacing head. There is a hint of berry here in the aroma, but you don’t get the full-on berry cereal flavors until you take the first sip. Unfortunately, the combination of flavors finish with a musty moldiness that turns me off. Bit shallow in body. Odd combination, but props for the innovation. (#3082, 9/8/2007)

Sample at the brewpub. Pours dark brown with a medium thin beige head that recedes to an outer ring quickly. Spotty lacing on the glass. Berries and sweet malt in the nose. Medium body with flavors of toasted malt and blueberries. The fruit in this beer is not the focal point, but more to augment the flavor. The finish is sweet caramel malt with a lingering berry aftertaste. Decent overall.

...was surprised at this balanced brew. Blueberry is weird for a bock, but it went well with it, an interesting beer. Slight hop notes, and a lighter beer with less density than a normal bock. I thought it was the best beer there.

Draught at the brewpub
Very dark brown color. Nice aroma of real blueberries. Medium body, some caramel flavor, very light blueberry juice flavor, but too simple.
