can8ianben (668), Pasadena, California, USA Dec 17, 2007 It has a lot of citrus bite, but lacks the yeast and spice complexity of a good hefe. As with all of their beer, very cloudy, served with a huge orange wedge, and maybe a bit on the cold side. Less malt, more banana and clove would be appreciated.
Dogbrick (2348), Columbus, Ohio, USA Nov 19, 2008 Sample at the brewpub, served with a lemon. Pours a hazed orange-yellow color with a minimal white head that dissipates quickly. Spotty lacing is evident. Aroma of wheat with some zesty lemon and citrus in the background. Light, clean body with flavors of mild wheat and citrus as well as a touch of yeast. The finish is citrusy with a touch of hops left over. Barely average overall. BelgianBeerGal (1034), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Nov 15, 2008 Draft in Boulder City. Just an odd attempt at a german hefe. not to the type at all from the very still and murky appearance to the boring flavor. No spice, no ester, no nothin’ really. patrick767 (1547), fort wayne, Indiana, USA Oct 26, 2008 draft at the brewpub - This brew is hazy yellow and has a light, citrus and yeast aroma. It tastes of wheat, a little yeast, light citrus, and some good bitterness. I don’t see anyone else mentioning the latter, so I wonder if they’ve changed their recipe. It’s light bodied and has a dry finish. UnholyBrewing (322), Melbourne, Australia Apr 21, 2008 ...I was disappointed in this beer, but it is hard to replicate. Too watery, no head, no creamy consistency from the wheat malt. I even had two oranges, and no citrus or clove notes other than the orange. They need to re-analyze their recipe.
