COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With roots in two of today’s most popular brewing styles, 80-Acre Hoppy Wheat Beer is the result of careful cultivation by our brewers and cellarmen. Their efforts to craft a hybrid yielded a bumper crop of flavor; a delightfully distinctive ale with the aroma of an IPA and the refreshing taste of a wheat beer.

Poured from tap. Cloudy yellow color, spares white head. Light toffee smell. Medium body with an oily texture, nice wheat and hops flavor with a mild sweet, acidic and bitter finish.

Odd beer, I dont think I’ve ever had a hybrid IPA/wheat, definitely tasting the wheat, hops are pretty well muted though, tastes more like a wheat that is a little hoppy, still a decent beer, was just hoping for more of the IPA flavor. Not disappointing though.

I’ve been to the grocery store many times hesitant to try this hybrid. I finally had to go for it. Pours a hazy golden color with hop bouquet. The flavor is rather refreshing, reminiscent of summery wheat beers with that IPA backbone. Delicious !

Bottle - thanks bob! Pours hazy butterscotch with a medium white head and very nice lacing. Aroma is citrus, wheat, pine. Flavor is the same, light sweet and light bitter, with an IPA start and a wheaty finish. Light plus body, quire refreshing, actually. A nice take.

From bottle. Hazy pale yellow with a large white head. Aromas of malt, citrus, yeast, light fruit, spice and grass. Tart and a little sour, but very refreshing. Awesome beer.

12oz bottle thanks to RobertDale from the local for local 5 1/2 swap. Pours a cloudy pale straw color with 2 fingers of pillowy white head. Lots of sticky lacing. Aroma of wheat, sweet citrus, pineapple and lemon pulp, and plastic. Taste is of sweet pineapple juice, orange and lemon skins, wheat, and hints of grass and hay. Very crisp and refreshing. I’m really digging this beer! Thanks Bob!

Bottle Pours a slightly hazy yellow body with a nice frothy white head that left some heavy lacing. Couldn’t look much better in the glass. The flavor is really hoppy for a Wheat Ale, bright and citrusy with a yeasty wheat malt base. The flavor is equally hoppy with a lemony and citrusy hop punch up front. The bitterness is softened a bit by the light yeastiness and doughy pale malt and wheat base. Very refreshing and thirst quenching overall. Light bodied and crisp up front but finishes very soft and gentle with prickly carbonation. Really nice beer, much more interesting than the average Wheat Ale.

Bottle
Aroma: Citrusy hoppy aroma
Appearance: Cloudy pale straw with white head
Taste: Citrusy
Palate: Medium mouthfeel of a wheat beer, but all in all a light body. Nice smooth finish.
Overall: This is a really good and unique beer. The citrus, hoppyness transcend the wheat base, but with the smoothness of a wheat beer.

9/7/13. On tap at Bleu Cafe. Hazy golden pour, a touch of orange, under a nice khaki head. Big American hop aroma, fresh, green, lots of citrus, with doughy, almost biscuity malts. Lightly sweet flavor, citrus forward, especially orange, bits of doughy malts and toast. Nice.
