With roots in two of today’s most popular brewing styles, 80-Acre Hoppy Wheat Beer is the result of careful cultivation by our brewers and cellarmen. Their efforts to craft a hybrid yielded a bumper crop of flavor; a delightfully distinctive ale with the aroma of an IPA and the refreshing taste of a wheat beer.

Bottle. Pine, sour fruit, cat piss. Foggy light lemon juice color, 2-cm head. Tangy rounded hops in initial / goes a bit cat pissy in mid / slight cookieish sweetness and very light hop traces in final. Thin body. Very tasty. A session wheat for hop heads.

Very nice. Good hop balance. And the wheatiness comes through nicely. Rated this beer using a different program and unfortunately I'm not able to transfer my comments here.

A near perfect beer in my opinion. Large mouth feel yet still has the precise bitterness of the hops. Pours a hazy yellow/gold. taste is of slightly bitter citrus and floral. Full palate leaving you wanting more. Will definitely be a repeat buy.

UPDATED: SEP 21, 2013 Sampler at RFD. Draft->mini lager. Hazy yellow with small white head. Spicy, with floral and grassy hops. Surprising and very good. The best wheat ale I can recall trying.

Aromas of grassy, spicy, and herbal hops, and mild cereal. Mostly clear, brilliant gold, with a fully lasting, pillowy white head. Dry and perfectly balanced. Light bodied with refreshing carbonation, and a very clean finish.

Bottle:   Straw, a bit orangish and hazy, large frothy white head, nice lacing.   Fruity wheaty aroma, seems to have some apricot in there.   Comes across as a very light fruity wheat ale.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Fruity finish, not a real strong wheaty presense, but entertaining.   More fruity than most, and thankfully not as sulphuric as most American examples.   In summary, clean, not big, but with a nice fruity sweetness that most don’t have.

UPDATED: OCT 6, 2014 Bottle consumed during family reunion weekend at Jackpot Junction. An interesting hop and wheat combination from one of the best breweries running. Looks and pours like a traditional wheat beer but layers on the undertones of hop-ness. Refreshing, easy to drink beer. Well done, Boulevard. Well done.

Yep, it’s a sessionable hoppy wheat beer; chosen hop characteristics do blend nicely with the wheat ale components

A hazy golden yellow sits beneath a smooth to frothy head, settling to bulging islands and a few thick peninsulas of lace
Aromatic and intriguing for a session, light hoppy and light wheat notes combine to create something more interesting than your average version of the style while keeping it simple; smooth and quaffable with a lightly creamy, lightly drying finish with some additional vegetal notes leading to building layers of banana, dough, and light clove; the finish-after is really where things get somewhat interesting

Tap. Hazy gold. Good lacing. Fruity, yeasty, and hoppy aroma. Initial spicy bite, then well balanced throughout. Very good and drinkable. Happy to say it was just what I expected.

Bottle. Best by: 09/21/13. Pours a hazy pale gold with a nicely sized beige head. The remarkably tart aroma features plenty of orange juice, lemons, zesty citrus rinds, peaches, hints of bananas, a slightly musty funk, a little candi sugar, and a touch of coriander. Goes down thin to medium-bodied with a tongue-tingling and refreshing effervescence. A fair amount of wheatiness upfront taste-wise along with a dusting of candi sugar. Tart orange juice, lemons, a little grapefruit, and some citrus rinds at the end. The finish is dry and kinda bitter. A yeasty spiciness is present the whole way through. Definitely worth revisiting.
