COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With roots in two of today’s most popular brewing styles, 80-Acre Hoppy Wheat Beer is the result of careful cultivation by our brewers and cellarmen. Their efforts to craft a hybrid yielded a bumper crop of flavor; a delightfully distinctive ale with the aroma of an IPA and the refreshing taste of a wheat beer.

Poured into a snifter at Edgar’s house. Golden orange with a slight haze. Decent full head and lacing. Aroma is bread, citrus (limes and orange), fresh hay, and slight dankness. The taste is like a cross between a wheat, IPA, and farmhouse ale. You get the wheat beer backbone with moderate malts and the graininess of the wheat. But it is more hoppy with citrus flavors and then finishes slightly tart and funky. Light body, smooth drinking. Finish is well balanced. Nicely done. I had three!

Squat bottle from Wegman’s variety pack. Pours turbid gold with 2-finger white head. Nose is pale malt, limey citrus, white peppery spice. Tastes dry, limey, with notes of citrus, hops, white pepper, and a tart finish.

On tap at Pinocchio's in Media PA. This was my surprise of the day. Wheat in color and aroma but a very subtle hop bite that shows up in the after taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Backlog rating on 11-02-2012 (Bottle at Cap n’ Cork Covington Plaza, Fort Wayne, IN) The appearance is a small off-white head that mostly diminishes, cloudy straw body, very little carbonation, and one ring of lacing. The aroma is wheat malt, citrus, and pine hops. The flavor is lightly bitter, wheat malt, citrus, and pine hops. The mouthfeel is smooth and this beer is medium bodied. Overall, this beer is very quaffable, not overly hoppy tasting and is a very refreshing beer. This is a beer I recommend trying and a beer I would drink again.

Pours hazy golden orange with small head. Aromas and flavor are Belgian, plum, wheat, honey, and other dark fruits. Not nearly enough hops in this one. Medium bodied

Bottle from Wegmans Collegeville. Pours hazy yellow with a big white head that has excellent retention and leaves plenty of sticky lacing. The aroma has a nice balance of floral and piney notes with a distinctive wheat balance. The taste is mild, semi hoppy, a bit grainy, nd a slight lemon on the finish. Not bad!

Excellent beer! Pours a slightly hazy gold with white head. Has a pine and citrus hop aroma. A sweet and smooth taste of citrus hops, pine and light malts. Not overwhelming at the end. Leaves a sweet taste at the end, but not too much.

Draft at Fado. Hazy greenish yellow pour with a foamy white ring. Nice dry floral grassy hops with a bit of honey sweetness. Feels more like a light IPA than a wheat ale.

Light in color. Enjoyable, refreshing. Differs from Boulevard's popular Wheat beer. Drink it cold and from a glass and you'll be pleased. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours hazy pale yellow with a medium slowly fading white head, some light lacing. Aroma is sweet citrus, mild grapefruity notes, wheat, citrus floral hops. Taste sane as aroma with a mild citrus grapefruit hops bitterness. Palate is medium body, mildly crisp on the palate. Finishes with a wheat some grassy flavor, mildly sweet citrus grapefruit hops bitterness. Overall a pleasant and easy going brew.
