COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With roots in two of today’s most popular brewing styles, 80-Acre Hoppy Wheat Beer is the result of careful cultivation by our brewers and cellarmen. Their efforts to craft a hybrid yielded a bumper crop of flavor; a delightfully distinctive ale with the aroma of an IPA and the refreshing taste of a wheat beer.

Odd beer, I dont think I’ve ever had a hybrid IPA/wheat, definitely tasting the wheat, hops are pretty well muted though, tastes more like a wheat that is a little hoppy, still a decent beer, was just hoping for more of the IPA flavor. Not disappointing though.

Appearance is cloudy yellow to pale golden, with a moderate frothy white foam cap. Aroma is mango and citrus, with a definitive spicy clove. Taste is a light, bready malt with a grassy, light citrus flavor and acidity on the back end. Mouthfeel is light to medium with a crisp moderate carbonation. Finishes dry with a lingering grassy flavor and bitterness

Pouring this into one of my Rock Bottom shakers displayed a hazy yellow body with a sustained, creamy white head. The aroma is bread dough and flour with some soft citrus scents, lemon, mainly. Soft mouthfeel. It tastes much like it smells. The lemon is stronger and there’s a hint of zest, but overall it’s a fairly uneventful drink. Still, it is refreshing to drink a "hoppy wheat beer" (quoted from the label) without the brewery trying to pass it off as a "White IPA," whatever the frak that’s supposed to be.

Refreshing without being fruity or light. Slightly hoppy, slightly malty. Bright yellow and slightly cloudy, with minimal head.

From a bottle poured into a pint glass purchased in Denver. It just taste like a mild IPA. I am not a fan of IPAs. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Reviewed from notes. Poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a nice hazy golden yellow to slight lightly tinted orange with a one and a half finger white foamy to slightly bubbly (along the sides). This head died at a nice pace with a slight lacing here and there. The smell had a sweet lemon and light wheat and then comes a decent pine to citrus aspect. The taste took all of those previously mentioned flavors to make a fairly good refreshing satisfaction. On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a pretty good sessionability about it. The carbonation was exceptionally smooth. Honestly, this beer came across exceptionally smooth and crisp. Is this supposed to be this way? Overall, I like this one for the most part but something tells me for an American Pale Wheat Ale it just comes across too smooth. Should I complain there’s no wheat bite?
