COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With roots in two of todayís most popular brewing styles, 80-Acre Hoppy Wheat Beer is the result of careful cultivation by our brewers and cellarmen. Their efforts to craft a hybrid yielded a bumper crop of flavor; a delightfully distinctive ale with the aroma of an IPA and the refreshing taste of a wheat beer.

Tap. Hazy gold. Good lacing. Fruity, yeasty, and hoppy aroma. Initial spicy bite, then well balanced throughout. Very good and drinkable. Happy to say it was just what I expected.

Wow! Picked up one as part of a make your own 6-pack. Now I wish I had grabbed a few more. A very good mix of a wheat and IPA. A hoppy, lemon aroma, with a light golden color. A crisp, clean flavor. Would make for a great summer brew. I could throw many of these back at a time.

Pours a cloudy pale gold wheat color with a nice white head. Aroma of lemongrass, floral hops, and wheat. Taste is really great, makes me forgot that itís below zero outside and takes me to summer with a floral, lemon, and crisp finishing tatse. Love this beer !

Bottle shared with Parksy. Hazy lemon yellow. Perfumey citrus aroma. Lovely delicate perfumey hop character, kafir limes, lemon, with a creamy wheat base and relatively low bitterness. More like a hopfenweisse. Beautiful, so drinkable!

UPDATED: MAR 23, 2013 Keg at KCBM 2011 competition. Hoppy for sure, this is all hops with a week backbone. It came off too astringent for my taste. The hops turned into a cleaning product instead. I like the idea, but I would like to get something from the base wheat beer. 7/3/6/3/14.

Oh, this needs a re-rate. The bottled product is much better. Damn great hop mix with a subtle background of light wheat beer.

Foamy head, hazy gold color with lots of lacing. Orange, grass, pine, cedar and cheese with moderate carbonation and creamy mouthfeel. Quite good actually-not too sweet or bitter. Great hot weather beer.

12oz bottle. They were all sold out at Flying Saucer, I see why...itís awesome! Stable, 1/2-finger head. Hoppy AND wheaty; Iíll buy THIS hybrid! Naysayers begone - this is way better than it sounds, amazing even. Kind of like salted caramel - it sounds funny, but tastes delicious. Itís exactly what it advertises, and he excels at it. Great full body, medium hoppyness and sweet wheatness!

Bottle and served in my smaller Ayinger hefe glass: Pours a tad hazy with a lovely frothy head and spotty lace. The aroma comes right out a says HOPS HERE! Resiny, grapefruit, mango, hint of leafy dank as it warms along with pale malt and wheat. The taste is moderately acidic and quite fruity over a soft layer of wheat and biscuit malt. Slight pepper and clove on the finish along with a touch of metallic notes. Overall this is more akin to an IPA than a Wheat Ale as we normally know it. Either way I found it quite enjoyable and quite refreshing. I need more!
