COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With roots in two of today’s most popular brewing styles, 80-Acre Hoppy Wheat Beer is the result of careful cultivation by our brewers and cellarmen. Their efforts to craft a hybrid yielded a bumper crop of flavor; a delightfully distinctive ale with the aroma of an IPA and the refreshing taste of a wheat beer.

I had this at Global Brew. Pours hazy yellow with a white head. Taste wheat, citrus, crisp. I thought this was good. I would drink this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Nice cloudy pour of a wheat with moderate white head. Nice hop presence with citrus being most prevalent. Very tasty for a wheat with a bit of dry finish & hops throughout. Excellent offering of a "Hoppy Wheat". Will definitely enjoy much of this summer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Appearance: cloudy medium yellow, short but electric white head. Aroma: bright citrus, grassy, lightly piney hops, hint of banana and clove. Taste: big citrus (grapefruit, orange, lemon), light grass/herb hops, honey smacks, banana, clove, hint of coriander (?) and mineral water. Finish: lingering grassy, floral hops over a toasty, wheaty note. Notes: On draft at Founding Farmers in Potomac, MD. Absolutely excellent. Definitely hoppier than the average wheat beer, but the hops simply add to the refreshing nature of the beer, and give it a nice zing. Quite well done.

I think of it as a wheat IPA. It as the generous hops of a citrusy IPA and the smooth malt backbone of a wheat beer. Eminently drinkable. A perfect summer beer.

Sample at KC Hopfest 2011. Pours a cloudy pale yellow. Has an almost white appearance. Aroma of citrus and grass. Flavor is citrus, lemon, grass, wheat. Very easy drinking. Has the hoppy, citrus, aromas without the heavy bitterness. Quite good.

Pours a hazy yellow color with a good sized head and good lacing on the glass.

The aroma is big and pineappley, generally sort of citrus fruit forward, but clean with a little bit of the scent of fresh baked bread.

The flavor is hoppy and fruit forward, lots of pineapple and orange with a tiny bit of banana. Lots of pleasant bitterness and mild bubblegum are both nice characteristics even if they seem an odd combo.

Altogether bright and delicious.

(12oz bottle) cloudy light gold, soapy white bubbles. Nose of sweet candied hops, wheat, Marshmallow, orange pulp, rich. Taste of Wheat, light sweet citrus hops, candied orange, nothing over the top, refreshing, juicy stone fruit, I could drink this all the time in the summer.

Love the combo of hops and wheat! I could drink it in the summer and through the winter. I’m glad they make it all year long.
