COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With roots in two of todayís most popular brewing styles, 80-Acre Hoppy Wheat Beer is the result of careful cultivation by our brewers and cellarmen. Their efforts to craft a hybrid yielded a bumper crop of flavor; a delightfully distinctive ale with the aroma of an IPA and the refreshing taste of a wheat beer.

Bottle. Pours light hazy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is fruity tropical hops and some nice citric notes. Some honey and a light wheat character. Flavor is citric, sweet with some melon, tropical notes and a soft wheat finish. Medium body and a crisp carbonation. Good beer

Lemony, musty malt aroma. Great label. Foggy blonde, icy white head. Nice session beer. Good malting and pleasant hoppiness. Nothing fancy, but solid. Very, very light diacetyl. A nice blonde wheat ale. ABC Liquors, Betton.

Best by: 08/10/14 -- So it is past its best by date. Iím pretty disappointed by that. Appearance: Hazy light golden body with a fluffy white head that stands very well and leaves some spotted lacing. Aroma: Very fresh hop aroma. Spicy with a bit of earthy bay leaf smell to it. Itís very nice. Taste: More of that spicy earthy flavor to it. It taste a bit like thyme. A hint of mint in the backgrond. I donít get any wheat flavor which is a bit disappointing, and there isnít any perceptible yeast character. Mouthfeel: Itís smooth and light, medium bitterness, and a bit drier than Iíd expect from a wheat beer...it also doesnít have the presence on the palate that most wheat beers have. Overall: Despite being past the best by date on the bottle, the beer was good. I think it could be because the store I bought it from kept it refrigerated. The only thing that might identify this beer as a wheat beer to me is by the appearance...there really was no tell-tale sign in the aroma or flavor. The hop aroma and flavors are excellent. If you are an APA fan where you want a lot of hop flavor and aroma but not a ton of bitterness, this is right up your alley. If you donít like wheat beers, donít be turned off by this beer because it doesnít show. If you do like wheat beers, this leaves a lot to be desired. Overall it is a really good beer though, and the framework really relies on the hops...and if it were a house that frame would be made of solid oak.

Bottle shared at the End of History tasting. Aroma is grapefruit zest and grass. Pours light blond with a medium frothy head. Taste is bitter citrus, pine, and a caramel wheat finish. Light mouthfeel throughout and a great balance between the wheat and hop. Very pleasant.

12 oz bottle from a variety pack. Pours hazy golden with tall, long lasting, fluffy white head, nice lacing and lovely carbonation. Aroma is of citrusy hops, wheat malt, spices and ripe pears and oranges. Body is medium and slightly crisp. Citrusy hops, wheat malt, yeast, ripe pears and spices fill the mouth. Finish is long and semi-dry. Nice, easy drinking brew.

Poured into a snifter at Edgarís house. Golden orange with a slight haze. Decent full head and lacing. Aroma is bread, citrus (limes and orange), fresh hay, and slight dankness. The taste is like a cross between a wheat, IPA, and farmhouse ale. You get the wheat beer backbone with moderate malts and the graininess of the wheat. But it is more hoppy with citrus flavors and then finishes slightly tart and funky. Light body, smooth drinking. Finish is well balanced. Nicely done. I had three!

On tap at Pinocchio's in Media PA. This was my surprise of the day. Wheat in color and aroma but a very subtle hop bite that shows up in the after taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Backlog rating on 11-02-2012 (Bottle at Cap ní Cork Covington Plaza, Fort Wayne, IN) The appearance is a small off-white head that mostly diminishes, cloudy straw body, very little carbonation, and one ring of lacing. The aroma is wheat malt, citrus, and pine hops. The flavor is lightly bitter, wheat malt, citrus, and pine hops. The mouthfeel is smooth and this beer is medium bodied. Overall, this beer is very quaffable, not overly hoppy tasting and is a very refreshing beer. This is a beer I recommend trying and a beer I would drink again.
