hazy dark amber, big beige head, big sweet fruity malt aroma with bourbonand vanilla sweetness and a light earthy oak character, rich fruity malt flavor, the oaky dryness keeps the bourbon sweetness under control, light tartness melds well with the fruity sweetness,

Draught. Head is mostly diminishing. Body is hazy medium amber. Aroma is moderately malty (cookie, caramel, toasted bread), with notes of whisky/bourbon, wood, vanilla, alcohol. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium to full body, watery/syrupy texture, lively/soft carbonation, moderately alcoholic. Very strong bourbon character makes it a little less enjoyable than I expected, but it’s pretty good overall.

Tap @ Logan’s party. Poured a slightly hazed deep amber color with a large off-white head. The aroma and flavor had a fair amount of bourbon but it was nice and smooth. The aroma had a light tartness. Nice notes of vanilla, fruits and sugary sweet. Very tasty.

Terrific beer brought by the brewery to Cole’s, on the way to Cooperstown. This one put aside for the real geeks, here I am. Brewed with cherries, and that aroma is a gift that keeps on giving. Great white head, lace. 18 months of cellaring, a good mellowing. Good quad.

In the advance promotional bottle at the 2007 Baburek backyard vintage beer tasting. Pours dark amber with a dark beige head. This is like drinking the syrup out of those little cans of mandarin oranges. Thick- oh so very thick. This seems to have very well-hidden alcohol. Word on the street is that this will be available in October 2007 in my area for $7.50 a bomber bottle.
