COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The smooth, soft maltiness of Boss Tomís Golden Bock is complemented by a crisp but restrained hop presence. The mild warming quality of the beer makes it perfect for days when there is still a bit of a chill in the air. The beer finishes with a lingering dryness, and just a hint of caramel.

triplehopped (32) - - JAN 3, 2013
Pours a rich, almost sparkling, amber with a medium white/tan head. Aroma is lightly of hops with an accent of honey and grains. Tastes moderately sweet though nothing too exciting. Medium bodied with lively carbonation and a clean finish. Overall, a "middle of the road" beer, not bad but nothing to rave about either; sure to satisfy but not a first choice beer.

A different spin on a Bock. Malty and sweet aroma. Pretty amber color with a thin head. Smooth and light character with below average carbonation. Malty flavors of caramel and a small hop bite. Lighter and not as roasted as most of this style. Worth a try.

This is a pretty nice, mildly sweet bock, golden in appearance, slick on the tongue, with some good caramel and brown sugar.

Appearance: clear gold color, pours with a lofty thick off white head, settles into a denser head Aroma: subtle malt with hops at the same time, grain, pine Taste: hoppy, grain, alcohol, some sort of soapy hint in the back ground Palate: high carbonation, leaves a bitter aftertaste, leaves mouth dry Overall: to be fair this bottle is 10 weeks past the best by date, the beer does have a nice malt and hop balance ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Summer beer for sure. Not the best Bock beer I have had but, not as bad as the ratings. Nothing really special to talk about. Just know a head of time this one wonít knock your socks off and you will enjoy it.

On tap at McNellies. Pours a clear gold with white head that dissipates to the edges quickly. Aroma has a lot of musty grains with a light wet grass and sweetness. Flavor has musty grain and wheat with a bit of earthy grass.

Bottle. Pours pale gold with a large white head. Pretty aggressive pour. Aroma is minimal. Flavor is bready malt, some caramel, slight nuttiness and spiciness, mildly hopped and bitter. Starts moderately sweet, ends pretty dry. Lagery crispness. Medium mouthfeel.

I enjoyed this brew three days after itís best by date. Still found it crisp and fresh tasting. I had this in a pint glass rather than the recommended stein or dimpled mug. Boss Tomís is on the job indeed. Good carbonation enlivens the citrus clover notes. Lots of complexity in a light gold package. The malts are grassy with a pleasant honey like sweetness. The hops are truly well integrated in this bock. Fresh. lemony and bright they coat the palate nicely. Very session-able this is a solid effort. I could do this with brats anytime but a lemon garlic pork also comes to mind. I tend to be skeptical of many American bocks..but this is good stuff.
