COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The smooth, soft maltiness of Boss Tom’s is complemented by a restrained hop presence. The mild warming quality of the beer makes it perfect for days when there is still a bit of a chill in the air. The beer finishes with a lingering dryness, and just a hint of caramel. Pale, Munich, Pilsner, Caramel and Wheat malt. Hallertau and Perle hops.

Sampler at the W&C in Ballwin, Mo. It poured a golden color. The aroma was grainy. The flavor was of grain with a minor hint of caramel. Nothing special.

Poured from bottled dated best by 6/9/12 into shaker glass. Aroma: malt and hops. Pretty generic. Appearance: crystal clear and a light copper color. Very little head that faded quickly. No bubbles rising Taste: medium sweet, light sour, mild bitter Palate: medium body, thin slick texture. Average carbonation. Sweet aftertaste. Refreshing. Overall: This isn’t my favorite blvd beer. Tastes pretty generic to me. A little too much sweet and sour aftertaste for me. Won’t buy this again.

Bottle. Head is initially large, frothy, white, fully lasting. Body is medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (grain, husks), lightly hoppy (herbs, flowers), with light notes of soap and DMS, hint of metal. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately bitter, husky. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. It always confuses me how so many of the 750mL products from Boulevard are so tasty and yet almost every single one of their 12oz offerings (seasonal and year-round alike) are so mediocre. Oh well.

On tap. Poured a dull light brownish copper color with virtually no head or lacing. The aroma was malt, sweet sugars and a light bit of citrusy hops. The flavor was sweet malts, light spice and a bit of twangy citrus hops at the end. Thin, boring mouthfeel. A finish that lingered with sweetness and soapiness. Meh.

Dark golden. No head. Not much aroma. Good full taste and a nice hop presence on the finish. Like a refreshing, heavier lager. Unfortunately its a little sweet on the finish. Drink this instead of Dos XX, where available.

Pours a reddish gold color with thin white head. Aroma is grassy, with hints of sweet malts. Flavor is similar with notes of clover honey. Mouthfeel is watery. To me, it almost tasted like a kolsch with a bit more sweetness. It just didn’t work for me. Just kind of bland and watery.

12 oz bottle. Pours golden with a thin white head. Aroma of vanilla, honey, fresh baked bread. Aroma is mildly sweet, mostly honeybread and vanilla. Light touch of bitterness towards the finish. Fizzy carbonation. Basically falls into nothingness in the finish. This is a quite disappointing beer from an otherwise solid brewery. What the hell, Boulevard?

Bottle at 360 in St. Louis. Pours light yellow almost the color of urine. Not much on the nose or throat. It’s brewed to be a perfectly inoffensive beer and it succeeds splendidly.
