The intense flavors of dark-roasted malt in our rendition of the classic English porter are perfectly balanced by a generous and complex hop character. Bully! Porter’s robust nature makes it the ideal companion to a variety of foods, from seafood to chocolate.

12oz bottle purchased last week at Lukas Liquor in Missouri.... Bottle is best by 3/11/14. Thanks, Lukas Liquor. Hopefully it’s still tasting good, seeing as how porters are not hop-forward... Dark brown / red color. Good finger of light brown head. Leaves good, thicker lace. Medium body. Smooth, kind of crisp light soft carbonation. Pretty dry finish. Toasty aroma. Light chocolate, but minimal malt character on it. Bigger bitter taste than expected, minimal sweet. OK porter... But can’t help but think that it’s a little off, and not in the way that I expected. Sort of an astringent big bitterness, and not much int he way of malt flavor. Light metallic, too. This deserves a re-rate. I guess I’ll just go ahead and throw out the other 3 bottles of Boulevard I picked up from Lukas (assholes...).

Nummenrannassa. I liked this one a lot. Really thick mouthfeel, complex but well balanced taste.

Bottle. This is deeply roasted porter with a bitter unsweetened cocoa finish. This is a near perfect specimen of the breed.

12 oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours a deep black, with a moderate tan head which slowly fades, leaving a disk. Good lacing. Nose is dark malt, and taste is dark malt and dark roast coffee. Fairly thin mouth feel with a moderate finish nicely balanced by hop bitterness. Very good classic porter.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Pours Black With Brown lacing head. Notes of roasted, nuts, coffee, chocolate. Onesided and kind of too sweet for a porter.

12 oz. bottle poured to a Czech-pils glass, showing a deep, amber highlighted brown tone, with persistent froth to the thick, tan head, and an equally lasting nature to the waves & spots of lacing. The nose was roasted, chocolate, a touch of caramel, toffee, and creamy malt. The taste expressed these notes plus a moderate, earthy & lingering hop bitterness, a touch of smoke & char astringency, a creamy mouth feel that helped elevate the body to better than medium, and decent carbonation to project all these notes. A quite flavorful & hearty Porter!

Bottle @ Mosebacketerrassen. Best by june 2014.
App: Dark brown/black with a red hue, slight hazy, two finger beige thick head.
Aroma: ..Roasted with chocolate and coffee, berries and wet wood.
Taste: Roasted and almost slightly burn with coffee, chocolate, caramel and a slightly acidic berry/ashy note to it. Some salt in the finish, but not too much.
Palate: bigger body with soft carbonation. Slight fat and creamy..
Overall: Pretty roasted for a porter but still not burnt. The acidity and saltiness doesn’t disturb. Nice!

Bottle. Dark brown, almost black colour with big brown head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, roasted malts and cocoa with hint of liquorice. Roasted taste with more bitter chocolate, espresso and coffee. Medium to full bodied, medium carbonation. Bitter, bit burnt, hoppy and dry finish with cold coffee. Easy and avarage porter.
