3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz bottle, thanks hanniku! Black color with creamy head. Aromas of chocolate, toasted nuts and some vinous dark fruitiness. Acidic yet soft roasty taste with burnt bread, licorice, chocolate and toasted nuts. Medium body, soft palate. I found this too acidic.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
(Bottle, 0.355 l - BBE 06/2014, from Alko Arkadia, 20131108) The beer poured almost black. Its heas was quite large, it lasted long and its colour was lightly brown. Aroma had liquorice, hops and burnt malts. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, liquorice, somewhat fruity hops, coffee and bitterness. Aftertaste was burnt and bitter. A very nice but bit too burnt porter. The hops made it better.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle 33 cl, BBE 06/2014. Pours cola dark brown in color with a fluffy tan head.
Roasted coffee, vanilla and milk chocolate in aroma. Some coffee liqour vibe from
time to time is present in aroma as well. Soft mouthfeel even if there’s some
carbonation present. Quite dry too. Roasted coffee mostly in taste, some bitter
chocolate as well. Tasty porter nonetheless even if it feels a bit thin here and

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
35,5 cl bottle @ home. Bottled 11.06.2013, BBE 06/2014
Aroma has vanilla notes, some cocoa and dark chocolate. Flavour has cocoa, some vanilla, coffee, some ashy notes and hints of peat. Also some salty licorice occurs after some sips. Palate is slightly too high on CO2. Nice, although the ash tries to ruin the show. I think it is the hop profile here that creates those ashy notes.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
330ml bottle (shared by FatPhil, thanks). Pitch black color. Medium size, brown head, stays. Nice roast, cocoa powder and touch of chocolate in aroma. Heavenly hazelnutty , mild roast and mellow sweetness makes this beer very drinkable.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a Coke-like colour, looks black in the glass, and ruby coloured as you hold it up against the light. The beer is mostly clear, but with some yeast sediments towards the end of the pour. A lush brown head forms quickly, and although it fades away a bit too fast it does leave a satisfying lacing. On the nose, I’m getting rosewood, while the aromas on the tongue are those of burnt bread, smoked wood, tobacco and caramel. The taste is somewhat sweet, but with a very dry finish, almost like grapefruit (but of course the aromas are not similar to grapefruit). The palate is a bit oily, but the high amounts of carbonation work nicely to counterbalance it, and thus keeps the beer from being too heavy.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
355ml bottle (Alko Arkadia, Helsinki)
Slightly stinky roasty aroma. Dark brown, tan head. Fullish palate, slightly sticky from the burnt roasts. More burnt than a typical US porter. Some nice sweetness, but not sticky from it. Finish a little dry, some nuttiness, but not as much as Marduk says ;-p. Lacking the starchy fullness that US porters have, which thins is a little, but the burnt corner makes up for that. Nice easy stout.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
355 ml bottle. Best By 06/2014
Pours dark red-brown color with a small head. Aroma of cocoa, chocolate, caramel malts, some resinous hops and dried fruits. Flavor has also cocoa and dark chocolate, malts, caramel and wood notes follow. Strong carbonation, mild metallic harsh malty palate, dry finish. A bit too carbonated and metallic. Somewhat disappointing.
