COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The intense flavors of dark-roasted malt in our rendition of the classic English porter are perfectly balanced by a generous and complex hop character. Bully! Porter’s robust nature makes it the ideal companion to a variety of foods, from seafood to chocolate.

Lovely french roast coffee bean hue with a thin but ever present mocha colored head and some lace as well. Very soft aromas of chocolate, prunes and espresso. A little thin the second time around.

Black with creamy beige head. Aroma is sweet and fairly roasty. Coffee flavor starts at mid-taste and gets strongly bitter.

UPDATED: OCT 28, 2003 Time for the ol' descriptive re-rating treatment. Aroma is a bit on the sharp side, some citric hop and lightly roasted coffee, just a touch of cocoa. Super creamy and fairly thick light tan head, color is an opaque deep, dark brown. This beer is unfiltered and bottle conditioned with a very light dusting of sediment. Flavor goes through a few stages very quickly. It starts off with a bit of chocolatey sweetness, then shifts to roasted, dryish malt right before the Nugget, Willamette, Magnum and Cascade blend makes it's considerable presence felt. (Boulevard loves Nugget, I think it's in every beer they make in some quantity.) This beer defines the robust/sharp porter category for me. Lingering roastiness mingles with the hop juices for the finish, aftertaste is the same, dry, hoppy, roasted. Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel with a bit of hop tingle.

Just a great American beer. A great example of an American Porter. A good bit sharp, really low on the choc. malt, and a nice hope element in the finale. Great mouthfeel for a porter, thin to medium. An excellent selection sent from Wichita by the man, Philly.

At the brewery/... good hoppy, malty with nice aroma. Nice color and head.

This is the first porter I’ve tried, but I find it very enjoyable. It has a nice hoppy element with a smooth ending.

A fair porter, but agreed that BB Porter is much superior. Worth a try.

Malty aroma, tan head, with nice lacing compliment the dark brown color of this beer. Unfortunately, the flavor didnt live up to the appearance for me. Maybe I’ve had too many Deschutes Black Butte Porters, because this just didnt measure up. Not as rich and smooth front to back. This was ok, but not great.

Nice, very deep brown/black color and solid tan head that leaves some good Belgian-lace. The aroma is limited, but that’s OK for porter. Creamy mouthfeel. The flavor is rich with malt and intense roasted barley. There’s a flash of sharp hop flavor in the middle (Cascades?), but it’s covered over by the roastiness before the swallow is through. The finish is dry and roasty, revealing a little bit more of the hops; seemingly lasting forever.

The color is deep brown, the head is voluminous, the lace thick sheets, that cling to the glass till the very last drop. The nose that of roasted barley, slightly spicy, malt and hints of semi-sweet chocolate. The first sip is sweet, the top is medium, the finish is hop spicy, dry, light to moderate carbonation. One of the better ’Porters’ I tasted recently, and a pleasure for a ’Lover of the dark side’ May the spirits of malted grains shower their blessings on Indra for giving me a chance to sample. Ranks #129 on my master list of beers.
