COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The intense flavors of dark-roasted malt in our rendition of the classic English porter are perfectly balanced by a generous and complex hop character. Bully! Porter’s robust nature makes it the ideal companion to a variety of foods, from seafood to chocolate.

12oz bottle. Pours dark brown with a creamy tan head. Very dry with alot of roasted malt flavors but not as sweet as a typical porter. Has a nice bitterness throughout. This is one of the best porters I have tasted and is another great beer from Boulevard. These guys really know what they are doing.

17.05.2013, 0,35l bottle @ home: Big longlasting head. Aroma is more like a black ipa than a porter. Hops, roasted dark malts, grass, pine needles, leaves, some rubber and burnt caramel. Taste is also BIPA-ish. Hops, roasted dark malts, pine needles, wet leaves, burnt rubber, grass, hay, burnt caramel. Longlasting bitterness. Good one, even though I wouldn’t really say this is a porter.

Very dark brown, clear with ruby highlights, tan head. Bready malt with a little toffee, baker’s chocolate, roast, some dark fruit, spicy hops in the finish. Well balanced and easy drinking.

Aroma of coffee, smoke and grassy hops. Dark brown with frothy, tan foam. Medium bitterness and light sourness. Thin feel, lively with a long bitter/sour-ish finish.

Deep brown with a nice tan head. Lively carbonation supports the coffee and roasted aromas. Actually over-carbonated for me. Leaves a foamy mouth full of espresso and unsweetened chocolate. Kills the real body. Finish is dry with more of that coffee flavor. Needs slightly more body with slightly less carbonation.

Clear, dark brown body, maybe with a copper tint. The head is large and creamy and forms some interesting rocky structure when it starts to shrink. Finally it settles as a thick layer, lots of foam is left on the glass. The aroma is quite strong and is an even mix of chocolate and coffee, it’s pretty roasted with some light yeasty hints in the back and even a whiff of smoke. Light sweet taste and a moderate minus bitter finish that isn’t that long-lasting. There is also a slight acidity that I don’t find that pleasant nor fitting. The flavours consist of heavily roasted notes, coffee and some fruits in the back. Feels ok on the palate, a bit thin and rather dry and with a moderate carbonation. A quite ok porter.

Pours clear reddish brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, caramel, chocolate, coffee, licorice and citrus. Taste is medium sweet and light to medium sweet with a roasted, coffee and licorice finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottle (355ml) from Vinmonopolet (Storo), Oslo. Black colour. Inch-thick light beige head, good retention, fair amount of lacing. Aroma of roasted, slightly smoked, malt with coffee, licorice and soy sauce. Taste is quite dry, and very well-balanced. It has a nice ’meaty’ body with a lightly salty-bitter and smoked taste. Long and pleasant aftertaste.

355ml bottle from Vinmonopolet. Pours black, with a red tint when held up against the light. Two finger tan head which gets all creamy and fluffy after a couple of minutes. Nice! Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, clove, burned wood and citrus fruits. Really appealing. When tasted it gets salty and dry. It also seems to grow in the mouth. Of only the taste and palate were on par with the aroma and appearance, this one would be great!
