COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Neighbors for nearly twenty years, Boulevard Brewing Company and The Roasterie share a passion for making extraordinary beverages. In Coffee Ale, our two celebrated brewing traditions come together in a long-awaited collaboration. Ethiopian Sidamo from Africa’s Great Rift Valley has been carefully blended with rye, oats, and malted barley, and spiced with Perle and Styrian Golding hops. The delightfully fragrant beer presents a glowing, tawny-amber hue. The clean, crisp acidity of the air-roasted coffee mingles with malt on the palate, lingering faintly in a subtly sweet finish.

Super interesting like drinking good coffee grounds soaked in a brown ale.. well thats probably what it is but its enjoyable. Tons of coffee and a subtle malty base beer.

P: Pours a dark brown with red tint and a massive crown of dense cappuccino froth. S: Robust roasted coffee, mocha, resinous barley, chocolate malt balls, nutmeg, soy sauce and sweet booze. T/M: Roasted coffee drizzled with amaretto syrup, smoldered wood, chocolate covered espresso beans, non dairy creamer and a big booze presence. Taste is rough and artificial. Moderate carbonation in a creamy body and dry spicy barley laced with creamer sweetness. O: I love the smokestack series but this is the only one I’ve had that missed the mark. This tastes similar to an iced amaretto coffee with too much non dairy creamer. It’s coffee forward for sure but wasn’t a fan of the completed concoction.

750 ml. Good smell, amber appearance when you pour. Starts out with a roasted coffee taste, bitter and then got a little sweet on the finish. Overall, good price for the beer.

Bottle from Habershams, Savannah. It pours clear deep brown with a medium beige head. The nose is big on the coffee, chocolate, earth and wood. The taste is coffee, earth, some acidity, wood and cocoa with sweet coffee on the finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Pretty one-dimensional really. Couldn’t drink more than a glass of this.

750 mL bottle. Medium brown with a huge tan head. Toffee, light roasted coffee, dry earthy hops, and light vanilla. Comes on quite bitter, but fades to a dry sweetness. Body is medium with strong carbonation presence.

750ml corked and caged bottle poured into a Shaker at 40°. Color is a deep amber brown with good carbonation and a tall off white head. Aroma of deep roasted coffee with a smoky back note. It has a medium body with a creamy mouth feel. Flavor is sweet giving it a rich feel with light roasted coffee, caramel and just a hint of vanilla. In the after taste the rich feel turns sharp a little alcohol shows. Overall its a decent brew, I was just expecting more from Boulevard.
