3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
This is part of the smokestacked series. It is alright. Itís not in league with the Brett or Tank 7, but will suffice. Espresso aroma. Heavy, foamy head. Notes of chocolate and coffee. Caramel wash down. Itís ok. Nothing to brag about. Does not or does not sit at all with the smokestacked series. Nedds some fune tuning. Passable. Iím kinda dissapointed.

Bottle shared thanks to thebsmitty! Pours a bubbly copper brown from the cork and cage with fluffy tan head that leaves moderate lace. Aroma is fresh ground coffee and thatís about it, taste follows but a bit more complexity, hints of caramel and nuts. Thin and bubbly, lasting bitter finish. Good stuff.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Good, not great. Different from other coffee beers which are all stouts and porters. This one is thin and amber. Overcarbonated IMO. Base beer is subtle and mild, giving the whole beer a iced coffee like flavor. It's good and the coffee is strong, but I do wish there was more body and depth to this.

Amber pour, white head. Flavors of coffee up front, hops, smooth oat flavors, spicy rye, hints of sweet sugary notes at the end. Pretty good stuff. I prefer the chocolate though.

3.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
1 pint 9.4 oz. bottle served a shaker- poured a turbid lightened black with shades of brown and maroon of color, solid three finger foamy and a heavy cream like consistency head formed and laced extremely well upon the vessel. Aroma of dirt, coffee, toffee, darkened molasses, and love- just put everything that you like in a glass and enjoy! Hits the mouth with a high medium body that is extremely wide, a mild in feel on the mouth but overly strong coffee is intertwined with the malt, which makes the malt hard to detect, middle has more of the same with a slight note of cream, finish is cloying, slightly bittering, and has a fine note of dark chocolate. Very nice, but I enjoyed the last one I had alot more. But itís still very good!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
750ml bottle. Aroma is quite full of roasty coffee, dominating the lighter notes of dark brown sugar, praline, mild cocoa and spice, and featuring some lightly herbal tinges as well. Initial pour is mostly clear dark amber in color, with a fine, slight, uneven, off-white head. Flavor profile is appropriately full of coffee character as well, with suggestions of milk chocolate, toffee, dried fruit, dark brown sugar sweetness and faint spice in the background, and a tinge of alcohol appearing late into the finish. Palate is active, lightly carbonated, gently acidic and warming, with a full body. Interesting collaborative effort, and I admit I was interested when I first learned about this beer and that it would not be a Stout or Porter as virtually all coffee beers tend to be, rather the base beer, with its multigrain malt bill, plays a supportive role, giving the coffee more or less free reign...I am not disappointed.

Thanks to my buddy Steven Katz for grabbing this for me. Pours a slightly murky & particulate brown with 3 finger head that leaves little lacing. Coffee aroma meets you right up front with some roasty malt and a little caramel. Woody. Grassy hops. Starts initially moderately sweet, but then quickly tapers to a moderate bitterniss. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Creamy mouthfeel. Long coffee finish.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
P: Pours a dark brown with red tint and a massive crown of dense cappuccino froth.
S: Robust roasted coffee, mocha, resinous barley, chocolate malt balls, nutmeg, soy sauce and sweet booze.
T/M: Roasted coffee drizzled with amaretto syrup, smoldered wood, chocolate covered espresso beans, non dairy creamer and a big booze presence. Taste is rough and artificial. Moderate carbonation in a creamy body and dry spicy barley laced with creamer sweetness.
O: I love the smokestack series but this is the only one Iíve had that missed the mark. This tastes similar to an iced amaretto coffee with too much non dairy creamer. Itís coffee forward for sure but wasnít a fan of the completed concoction.
