COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Neighbors for nearly twenty years, Boulevard Brewing Company and The Roasterie share a passion for making extraordinary beverages. In Coffee Ale, our two celebrated brewing traditions come together in a long-awaited collaboration. Ethiopian Sidamo from Africaís Great Rift Valley has been carefully blended with rye, oats, and malted barley, and spiced with Perle and Styrian Golding hops. The delightfully fragrant beer presents a glowing, tawny-amber hue. The clean, crisp acidity of the air-roasted coffee mingles with malt on the palate, lingering faintly in a subtly sweet finish.

Tap at the Hay Merchant, Houston, 21/05/13. Mahogony brown with a good sized tan head. Nose carries a big espresso burst, coffee cake, sugars. Taste comprises coffee cake, tirimasu, brown bread, biscuit, dark caramel, demerara sugar. Medium to full body with fine carbonation, sweet finish. Decent stuff, a little over sweet but Iím a sucker for coffee infused beers! Alcohol is well integrated.

Good but not as good as I hoped. The aroma was definitely of coffee but with a strong malty presence. The color is like iced tea with a small head. The palate is the best part with a heavy feel that comes across as creamy. Lower level carbonation. Anything more would detract. The coffee flavor doesnít translate as much as I would have expected because there was a lot more going on. Heavy malts with a sweetness. The rye added a little spice and it finished with a boozy tang. Good but not what I expected. A little acidic.

Bottle shared by bhensonb. Pour reddish brown with a modest tan head and a coffee aroma. There is a roasty rye flavor with a carbonated and bitter coffee finish. Very complex.

750 c&c from Bine and Vine. Pours darkly ruddy with a fizzy beige/tan head. Aroma is plain coffee. Med body. Flavor is smooth, dry coffee. There is malt an a little mix of indiscernible flavors, but primarily coffee. Well done.

Sampled at esbls. Fairly dark brown. Almost all coffee is smelled. It is tasted, too and is quite nice. This is well done, no pun intended.

750 ml. bottle- Pours slightly hazy ruby red with a two finger light tan head. Aroma is coffee actually, it smells like I just opened up a bag of high end coffee beans. The taste is just what it says, ale brewed with coffee, creamy authentic coffee. This beer is meant for coffee drinkers, not beer drinkers that like impy stouts brewed with subtle coffee hints, you actually taste real fresh tasting coffee, really interesting. Body is medium and carbonation is medium high. Good, The Roasterie makes a mean bean!

Pours deep amber with a thick, dense mocha head. The second non-stout coffee beer Iíve had in the past week thatís really good, which makes me think there should be more of these.
