3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pour out of 750 mL bottle, thanks Jay! Dark reddish pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of lots of roasted coffee bean, hints of roast, chocolate, nice caramel, toffee, hints of earth. Taste is a mix of slight coffee, hints of roast, toffee, hints of grass, slight burnt caramel, finishing fairly bitter, slightly roasted. Kind of disappointing.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours with a hazy brown hued body with a large tan head. Aromas are of coffee, estery, earthy, nutty, fudge, currants, raisins, medium malt. Flavors are of coffee, raisins, estery, fudge, coconut, medium nutty and toasty malt. Slightly spicy. Very very lively carbonation that seems out of place, dry, low body, almost a bit acidic.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
750 ml bottle via local STL trade. Pours a deep coffee brown with a massive rocky beige head that takes a while to settle into a small ring. Aroma of coffee, cocoa beans, earth, dark fruits, earth, nuts, and toast. Flavor of old cold coffee, nuts, toast, dark fruits, rye spice, and earth. Light-bodied, with minimal carbonation and a palate that starts smooth and dries up late. Pretty odd beer, maybe with a slight carbonation issue. Not bad, though.

"Iím curious what this large but easy drinking ale would be like without the coffee. You get the impression itíd be good, but itís so coffee centric that I canít really say. Wonderful roasted coffee aromas, good body, little heat. Nice brew. Wish list cross off."
