3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
750 ml bottle with cork and wire cage into a shaker pint glass.
Appearance: Large off white small bubble head dissipating after about a minuet with minimal effervescence . Color is a dark ruby on first pour but clouds up with sediment further down.
Aroma: You guessed it, Coffee, roasty very pleasant and alcohol more pronounced as it warms.
Palate: Light mouthfeel without the dark heavy feel of the familiar porter or stout with the coffee flavor pronounced but not bitter. Spices and hops well balanced.
Taste: Nice medium bodied to dark coffee without bitter aftertaste of overbrewed coffee. alcohol present but not as strong as the ABV. suggests.
Overall: Very good and surprising. I love a good dark stout with coffee/choclate notes, but a light bodied ale with the complex flavors of a good coffee was difficult to pull off but I believe they did a good job, Want that nice coffee note but are not in the mood for a dark heavy stout, this summertime substitute would fill the bill nicely

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle... Clear burnt-orange pour with a mid-sized, frothy, off-white head. Decent retention. The aroma is a blend of medium-roast coffee, toffee and vanilla. Medium-bodied with airy carbonation. The Flavor is mainly of coffee and is lightly acrid. Balanced nicely, it’s bittersweet. Finishes acrid, mildly sweet and slightly tongue-numbing (like Novocain). Bottle courtesy of newcigarz!

750ml bottle, caged & corked. Vintage 2013, batch 1, best by 10-2013. Pours medium brown color, tall light tan head. Large carbonation. May be over bottle conditioned. Smells of cold coffee. Flavor of burnt grains, fine roasted coffee beans, a hint of chicory. For a Coffee Ale, this beer is of superb quality ingredients. Tastes like coffee. Tastes like a Brown Ale. Nice layers of flavor. Now I hope it won’t keep me up all night long. (4101)

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Lovely beer. There’s roasted coffee and malts in the aroma, as well as caramel. Flavor mirrors the aroma, in addition the sweetness and bitterness hold hands through it all. On the end is a warming alcohol burn. After dinner drink and coffee, all in one bottle.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a clear brown, transparent in the glass appearing deep amber, crowned by a large tanned head. Aroma is fresh, bitter coffee, malts and caramel. The coffee aromas are really nice! Taste is roasted coffee beans and a bit more moderately roasted malts. It has a subtle sweetness that is balanced nicely by the bitter coffee and roasty notes. A slight alcoholic warmth in the aftertaste, but hides the high abv very well beyond that. Body is close to full and has a creamy mouthfeel and the co2 is just on the spot, witch is just a tad above average. Probably the best non-stout coffee ale I’ve had.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Danish tasting session
Brown color, dark, with quick head. Smell of old coffee pot and spirit. Lean body, overly carbonated (possible refermentation in bottle?), dry caramel flavor with some chocolate and coffee; the closes thing to this is a coffee filled truffle; ordinary bitterness; the coffee overall provides a feeling of stale water and dust.
Far from exciting.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle @ Yespr. Pours quite hazy amber with a lasting small frothy beige head. Aroma is mild coffee, caramel, bread, herbs and toasted malt. Taste is moderate sweet and light+ bitter. Body is medium, texture is light syrupy, carbonation is is moderate+, Finishes sweet with caramel and mild coffee, The coffee is nicely downplayed but I’d prefer less carbonation and sweetness.
