COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Neighbors for nearly twenty years, Boulevard Brewing Company and The Roasterie share a passion for making extraordinary beverages. In Coffee Ale, our two celebrated brewing traditions come together in a long-awaited collaboration. Ethiopian Sidamo from Africa’s Great Rift Valley has been carefully blended with rye, oats, and malted barley, and spiced with Perle and Styrian Golding hops. The delightfully fragrant beer presents a glowing, tawny-amber hue. The clean, crisp acidity of the air-roasted coffee mingles with malt on the palate, lingering faintly in a subtly sweet finish.

UPDATED: MAR 23, 2013 Got on tap at Barley’s Brewhaus in OP and served in a tulip glass. Brownish red in color with tall light brown head. Good lacing; head reduces to thin layer but remains throughout. Obvious smell of coffee, but more of roasted coffee beans and vanilla. Definite roasted smell with malt. Tastes sweet and also of roasted coffee beans with a slight bitter aftertaste. VERY easy drinking and hard to resist just gulping it down. Full bodied and creamy, almost thick. Possibly more of a novelty but a great beer nonetheless. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

"I’m curious what this large but easy drinking ale would be like without the coffee. You get the impression it’d be good, but it’s so coffee centric that I can’t really say. Wonderful roasted coffee aromas, good body, little heat. Nice brew. Wish list cross off."

Hazy amber color with a fine tan head. Looks nice. Ok lacing. Nice aroma for coffee lovers also. I quess this beer is nothing worth trying for those who do not like coffee. Lovely smooth coffee and nutty aroma. Solid body. Tad sweet and a fine bitterness. Balanced and nice. Soft carbonation. Lots off coffee in the flavor as well. What a surprise. Balanced with some caramel and mild nutty. Maybe a bit one dimensional. But the caramel touch gave it something extra. Lovely dessert sipper.

Bottled from Systembolaget Brown with a beige, bubbly head. Loads of coffee-beans in the aroma. Flavour like cold coffee with some chocolate and coffee grounds. Rather pleasant!

Bottle... Clear burnt-orange pour with a mid-sized, frothy, off-white head. Decent retention. The aroma is a blend of medium-roast coffee, toffee and vanilla. Medium-bodied with airy carbonation. The Flavor is mainly of coffee and is lightly acrid. Balanced nicely, it’s bittersweet. Finishes acrid, mildly sweet and slightly tongue-numbing (like Novocain). Bottle courtesy of newcigarz!

750ml bottle, caged & corked. Vintage 2013, batch 1, best by 10-2013. Pours medium brown color, tall light tan head. Large carbonation. May be over bottle conditioned. Smells of cold coffee. Flavor of burnt grains, fine roasted coffee beans, a hint of chicory. For a Coffee Ale, this beer is of superb quality ingredients. Tastes like coffee. Tastes like a Brown Ale. Nice layers of flavor. Now I hope it won’t keep me up all night long. (4101)

Lovely beer. There’s roasted coffee and malts in the aroma, as well as caramel. Flavor mirrors the aroma, in addition the sweetness and bitterness hold hands through it all. On the end is a warming alcohol burn. After dinner drink and coffee, all in one bottle.
