3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
During GABF weekend. Pours a really murky brown. Kind of sugary and plenty malty but it works. A weird mélange of tastes that opens up as it warms. I enjoyed it more with each sip.

It poured a dark brown color with a small off-white head. The aroma was semi sweet, some chocolate, a little sour, wood, caramel and coffee. The taste was moderately sweet, with chocolate, caramel, light sour, cherry and coffee. Quite nice.

Bomber. Poured dark amber with a medium-sized light tan head. Aroma and flavor of slightly herby hops, deep, dark fruits, cherry, some raisin, toffee, caramel, toasted malt. Slightly tart. Slightly thick mouthfeel. Low carbonation. Delicious beer.

Brown sugar, toasted malt, punchy carbonation, tart finish. Pretty lacing with a rich, dark, auburn body. Sticky on the tongue in the aftermath. Perfect for a chilly fall night.

UPDATED: OCT 16, 2012 Pours a chestnut brown. Sampled at atomic coffee in Moorhead. Nice dark fruiti aromas and flavours. Nice.
Re-rate: upped the rating. This is actually quite good. Lots going on...bubble gum, dark fruit, red wine, sour cherries, coffe, dark malts and fudge all making their presence known throughout the evening. Everything is balanced and it’s an easy drinking, smooth ale. Very good.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
750 ml. bottle- Pours hazy dark ruby red with a dense creamy tan head. The aroma is tart and acidic, dark fruits, brown sugar and spicy. The taste is malty, brown sugar, tart and tangy, caramel. Body is full, carbonation is medium high, finish lingers long after the swallow. Overall this is good, massively complex, I liked it.

Bottle shared by cptnspeed1...thanks Brad! - Pours ruby brown with a thin tan head. Lightly sour caramel on the nose, a sharp booziness, light bread, and butterscotch. Taste is the same, with some nutty caramel and light yeasty bread. Smooth and slick, with nice carbonation.
