3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
750mL pours a rusty brown with a big bubbly off-white head. Aroma is an inviting mixture of toast and toffee, with just a bit of charred oak. Unfortunately, as with several recent highly-anticipated beers from our great hometown brewer, thereís something a bit off in the flavor. The English malt and hop components are here as expected, and the "sting" still shows up, but the slight metallic tinge that others have noted is fairly obvious and off-putting. Iím hoping this isnít a widespread problem because I think this is actually a pretty good brew except the one manufacturing flaw.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours copper with a beige head. Nutty, bready, caramel nose that follows along the same lines in the flavor. The caramel is a nice foundation, with some oak, full bodied, finishes a bit yeasty with a banana note I didnít like as much.

Smells nice and rich and malty with tons of complexity. The taste on the other hand is cloyingly sweet with some toffee and bread notes. Man is this sweet.
